Snare: Pearl, Dynasty, and Yamaha 13" (like the crispness)

Tenors: I like the set up for Dynasty, and the harware, but I think Yamaha sounds better. Yamaha tenors are a pain in the but though with the hardware.

Basses: I like Dynasty. Pearls are heavier, but do sound nice. And Yamaha I love because its what I work with, they last a long time, and they're easy to do maintenance on.

Cymbals: Zildjian... But, I have also used Paiste and Sabian, and a few others. I like specific cymbals for each. Zildjian, I love like all of theirs.

Drum Set: DW

Keyboards: Adams. I trust them, and love the sound.

Sticks and Mallets: Always, Vic Firth. I've used other mallets, and I'm not saying I don't like others at all, I just prefer Vic, and always use Vic when I can.

Heads: Remo... sometimes Evans.

I have to say Yamaha for everything. Even though a lot of people use them, they are so durable and they have such a wide variety of sound. The only thing I don't like about Yamaha is their customer support/service.

Pearl for battery. Zildjian cymbals. For the pit, Ludwig/Musser.

For snares I prefer Yamaha.

For tenors I would definitely have to say Dynasty. Yamaha's produce a good sound but I've always thought Dynasty's to play a bit nicer, and less of a hassle to maintain.

For Bass I prefer Pearls. They have a nice sound, I have only played Yamaha basses once though and the quality of those basses were crap, so I think that causes some bias on my part, but from listening to other drumlines, Yamahas sound great up close, but from a distance Pearls have a nicer sound, to me.

For Cymbals Zildjian.

I am new here and pretty new to drum lines in general. I am looking at gear for my school and I was curious about peoples opinions on different brands of drums. Just for fun (and a bit of procrastinating from real work), I went through the thread and tallied people's favourites. If people counted 2 different drums equally. I included both. I very likely missed some as I was counting pretty quickly but i think I got most. If people weren't clear on a particular brand, I did not count it. These are the totals of people's opinions on snare, tenor and bass brands.

Snare
1) Yamaha (48)
2) Pearl (45)
3) Dynasty (13)
Premier (3) Ludwig and Quantum (2)

Tenors
1) Dynasty (53)
2) Yamaha (29)
3) Pearl (25)
Premier (2)

Bass
1) Pearl (54)
2) Yamaha (38)
3) Dynasty (17)
Ludwig (1)

I hope you find it helpful or interesting at least! : )
