The Madison Scouts have commissioned a new uniform for the 2003 season.

What ARE they thinking? I dig the fleur-de-lis in the uniform but they really should take one of the older Scouts' uniforms and updated it with sleeker lines or something. I'd be really surprised if the current prototype ever makes it to the field this summer due to the huge dislike for the uniform so far.

Obviously, uniforms are not the most fashionable outfit, but what were they thinking? Kinda hard on the eyes when you first see it. I agree with Hulka, they should've updated the older Scouts uniform.

I like the leprechaun comment...very appropriate! The uniform reminds me of something that the 2-face guy on Batman would have worn!! Man...talk about Schizophrenic!
It kind of does look like a leprechaun gone mad, and I do think that Harvey Dent (Twoface) would be proud to wear it on St. Patty's day.
I understand the idea that they were working on, but I don't think that they executed it correctly. I think that they could use a combination of this design as well as elements of the old one. Sort of like this:
It has the new fleur-de-lis, which I think could work on the uniform, keeps the color scheme balanced and it also keeps the distinctive red sash from the present uniform.
I do like that version better. It's still missing something though. I'd say wings and a bigger collar but then that would be too close to the Cavaliers' uni. An absolute must is a citation cord added to one side (if I can remember back to high school I think it goes on your left). They still need to get bigger aussies like the Cavaliers though.

I think that the cords definately need to be there. I looked on their web site and it is indeed on the left shoulder. I made 2 versions, one with the cord and the different aussie and one with that as well as the two silver stripes on the sash.
Dude, your designs are better than Cesario's! The one on the right is kind of hip and still looks like the Madison Scouts.

That's what happens when you marry yourself a guard instructor. You start becoming aware of colors and design choices. I've already designed flags and scenery, so I guess uniforms should fall in there, too. My next trick will be to start arranging flowers.
I want to get feedback from others because I'd like to submit this to the Madison organization, as I think it would serve them better than the design they have shown. Maybe they'll consider it.
I say go on and submit what you have there. At this point it would behoove them to consider any and all suggestions.

i know a lot of organizations change uniforms to "spice" things up or just for something new, but sometimes you gotta go with the old "if it ain't broke dont' fix it..." line because it really just looks like they're changing them for the sake of changing them and not improving them. i liked the old scout uniforms, a lot "classier" and better than a lot of other lines' too. i can see if they really truely had something that they thought was better or more "innovative" (or "updated" or whatever) than what they currently have, sure....but i don't think this is near that point yet. sure it's a prototype but......
oh yeah....and MAM's design on the right is a big improvement right there too.....
Cesario!!! OMG, I should have known!! That explains so much! I've got a story that involves him (being really pissed at me), but I'll save that for another time...
Hmm, sounds like a nice, juicy story. <img src="/threads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
If the Scouts were determined to modify the uniform they should have done what BAC did making the lines sleeker but leaving the basic design alone.

Dude, lay off the spamming of trying to get Shopping Spree. There is a Forum for music and if you want it, don't spam the board for it please. And why did you try to put Electric Wheelchair on your attachment? What does that have to do with anything on this thread? I suggest that if you don't want to talk about anything but getting BD music that you find another board, please. But if you'd like to DISCUSS drumline, like a DISCUSSION board is for, then you are MORE than welcome, by all means do so.

My initial reaction was negative but I go to school with the guy in the picture. He's the drum major this year, and he assures me they look really good in person.
They definitly needed new uniforms, but there new ones are seriously lacking. they should of keep there old ones but just got rid of the glitter. i dont like them
Wow, how about those new Madison Uniforms..they turned out to be different enough from the prototype that everyone though they were kinda cool. However, there is no excuse for those rollerball guard outfits that Cavies had.
