Drumlines.org Fantasy Drum Corps is seeking a new Executive Director for Season 3 and on.
Current Executive Director, Mark Bernal, will be stepping down when the right candidate is found. Opportunities in DCI will prevent Mark from continuing his duties to
DLOFDC.
"Well, an opportunity arose for me to be on staff with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle corps," said Mr. Bernal. "Being on the road full time with the Cavaliers would make it impossible for me to be Executive Director for
DLOFDC and run it efficiently."
In light of the news, the search is on for a new Executive Director. There may be promotion from within the Board of Directors, but its the feeling of Mr. Bernal to find out if there is anyone interested in taking over the mammoth responsibilities associated with the job.
Along with being Exec. Director, the possible candidate will need to be home throughout the spring and the summer. Also, the candidate will have a strong knowledge of drum and bugle corps, as well as some profiency in computer skills and Excel. Finally, the possible candidate will have to show a strong committment to continuing the tradition of
DLOFDC here on drumlines.org. Last season was the biggest yet with nearly 90 fantasy corps over 3 divisions. The hopes from Mr. Bernal and the rest of the board is that that will grow and become more refined for the next season.
IF you are interested in submitting your name for consideration, reply here expressing your interest and the corps you were director of, if applicable. Consideration will be offered to those who are new to
DLOFDC, but those who were fantasy directors will be at an advantage.
Depending on the number of applicants interested, we will narrow down the field to around 3 or 4 candidates and make the decision from there.
Once the new director is named, he/she will work closely with Mark(bernie_vkpit) and Senior Board member Josh(dlwebmaestro) to learn the details and inner workings of the day to day operations. Once the transition is complete, Mr. Bernal will be available to consult with questions and such, but his role will simply be "Executive Director Emeritus".
Get your names in if interested! Deadline for submitting your name for consideration is January 15th, 2005.
