Finally, the day has come!
DLOFDC Season 2 starts today! With that being said, the Executive Committee wanted to fill everyone in on the details of how scoring will work for the league. To some of you, it might not make a whole lot of sense on how the scoring is done...but just keep this in mind. We score the same way as DCI does. Here are a few things about scoring:
-The interface that Josh designed for our league is completely up to the minute. Where other leagues you have to wait 1-2 days for recaps to come in and then tabulate and then post, we decided to create something that you could track minute by minute. Once a show is concluded and recaps are posted on DCI.org or wherever, one of us will take those scores and post them here on a secret input page that we have created

Then the scores are distributed to your fantasy corps, depending on the captions you chose...thus creating your fantasy score! You can look now and see that some caption scores are posted already. Not all caption scores will come in at once. As they are posted online, we will input them as we can. So there will be times when you are checking scores that some of your captions there is a score, and some have
0.0. That is because we have not entered a score in for that corps. More on the scores posted now later.
-As the season goes on, the scores will fluxuate. If you are up one day, and then you are down the next day,
dont think its us doing something to the scores.
thats what happens in DCI. Its not always an upwards progression in scores as the season goes on. Some days a corps will slip in a caption from the previous days.
-At the beginning of the season, you will notice that all corps do not start on the same date. In fact, only a handful of corps perform tonight (the 18th). It's only until June 24th when all corps will have started the 2004 season. So for those corps who will not be starting tomorrow, I will be using scores from the beginning of last season for those corps to tabulate the fantasy scores.
-Finally, if your corps does not perform on a day where there is a fantasy show, there will still be a caption score for them. It will just be a "projected" score using a statistical equation. Not made up per se, but a calculated score based on trends from the three previous shows the corps competed at.
I think
thats about it! There are shows everyday except for July 4th, for obvious reasons! And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck to you all!
