A few updates for everyone:

The deadline for submitting is still May 31st. Which is a week from today for the mathematically challenged.

As of today, there are 41 division 1 and 2 corps submitted for season 2.

So far of the 41 submissions, there are only 17 returning corps from season 1. Where are you guys at?

A reminder to the new directors for this season. Even though you submitted a corps for Div 1, you still have to qualify to make Div 1. The qualifying show will be held sometime between the 1st and 3rd of June. You will not to do anything, as we will take the captions that you submitted for your corps, and use that as your qualifying corps. More info on how that qualifying show will work later on.

Josh (DLWebmaestro) has been slaving away to make this season as streamlined as possible. He has been creating scripts and databases for submitting a corps(as those of you who have submitted have seen), for corps info and captions selections...as well as working on a database/script for selecting the tour schedule. The tour schedule is complete, so now we are just creating the script for you to select your schedule.

If any of you are interested in a home show, let me know the city and show name here. Most of you have been assigned a home show. If you havent sent me an email yet letting me know the name of your show, then it will just read "YogiBoo Home Show" or whatever your corps name is plus "Home Show".

That's about it! The things that the executive committee are doing behind the scenes is exciting and definately pushing the envelope for fantasy leagues. We hope to be the best around! Thanks again.

some of the driectors might want to check out other people's shows when they make up their own home show (if they do), so it might be wise to have the ones that you have had submitted already to be put in this area.

DC Scandals will be holding their second show "Weapons of Mass Percussion"

The new D&BC of The Crazy 88 will be holding a show in Potomac, Maryland. Come one, come all, for a fierce night of hornlines blowing your face off and percussion that'll make your bones break. "Maryland Massacre" will be one show not to forget!

Once again, the Superdome, nestled in the heart of New Orleans, will be hosting the second annual DCI show, "Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler". As always, free beer and crawfish will be given to all participants. Come down, watch a great show, eat some great food, and let the good times roll!

The Guardsmen will hold their 2nd annual "Cental Ohio Classic" at Crew Stadium in Columbus Ohio.

The Fivesters will hold their new "Music City Festival."

This will be held in Nashville, Tennessee. The stadium will consist of the Titans Adelphia Colisseum.

The Seattle Wardrivers have just recently released the title of their very first home show ever!

The Hot Air Drum and Bugle Corps will be hosting their very first home show here at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The show will be entitled "Rhythms along the Rouge".

Here are some new updates about what is going on.

First off...WOW! 88 submissions for DLOFDC Season 2! That is definately beyond my expectations!

However, it does seem a bit ridiculous trying to split 88 corps between 2 divisions, so the Executive Committee had a meeting. The decision was to create a Div 3 that way all the corps could be split and the numbers would still be respectable enough in each division. The qualifying show will be held tomorrow night with the results being posted by late Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

The qualifying show will work this way:

All corps but the top 17 from last year will have to attend the qualifying show. This excludes new directors who only submitted a Div 2 corps.

The caption results will come from the Indianapolis region from 2003.

The divisions will break down like so:

Div 1 - 35 corps
Div 2 - 30 corps
Div 3 - 23 corps

So placement into corps from the qualifying show will be as follows:
Top 17 from Season 1 plus
1-18th place - Div 1
19th - 48th place - Div 2
49th - 71st place - Div 3

There will be an adjustment on the prizes to accomodate the Div 3 winner. More info on that later. Also, more info later on how many Div 3 and 2 corps will get into Div 1 Quarterfinals. In addition, with the large number of corps in Div 1, its a possibility there will be a Div 1 prelims to narrow the 35 down to 24 for quarterfinals. Thanks again for all the submissions!
