*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DLOFDC DIRECTORS*

The Engineers Dum and Bugle Corps have some announcements to make after a dismal 20th place finish at the DLOFDC Quarterfinals. Mr. Scott Smith, Corps' Director, states, "This season was one for many of us. We congratulate The Brassiers Drum and Bugle Corps on their victory. I have decided to release Percussion Tech. Kris Marsh. I have observed him fooling around playing DCI drum parts and not responding to the task at hand. The Staff and myself have decided to cancel the Dynasty Brass Contract and signed a KING Brass Contract. We will now use G Bugles, 2 Valved with the exception of our Lead Soprano Line, who will use 4 valved Eb Piccolo trumpets and our Second Soprano line who will use Bb, 3 valved Trumpets. The Percussion has changed their Drumhead and Drumstick profile. the Drumhead Profile will have the snare using Black Max Batter Heads with Falam Snare Side heads for our snares. The Tenors will use Suede tenor Heads with the exception of the Spock Drums which will have Ebony pinstripes on them. The Basses will use Ebony Ambassador heads. The Snare Stick of choice will be the Tom Augnst Snare stick but we will also use the Scott Johnson Snare Stick for more intense areas of the show. the Tenors will use the "Vega" Tenor Stickas the mallet of choice but will use the MT1 for more intense areas as well. We still are proud endorsers of Remo and Vic Firth but we have changed out profiles a bit. The Pit will now use Adams Pit Percussion Instruments. I am also pleased to announce that the staff will remain the same with the exception that was stated above. Next Year will be our way to the Gravy Train of Victory. See you at step-off."

Show Title: Spanish/ American Conflicts.

Pieces:
1) Durango (moves right into second movement), Mr. Smith states, "This piece is like Madison's Opener in 2003 with a strong and forceful enterance which will move into our second piece..."
2) El Cumbanchero (continued quote) "This piece will help bring out our fierce ravenous side and allow for the fans to see our great sections win the day."
3) Tiger of San Pedro, Mr. Smith states, "I remember very well of maching this piece... it gives a good subtle feel but be wary of our entire section for we have many an idea for this fun piece."
4) La Fiesta, Mr. Smith states, "I believe the Cadets played this song in the late 80's but I'm not completely sure. I remember marching this song in my Junior year in High School. This song will give a fun aoura to many a fan and allow for just a final chance to relax before our final piece."
5) Malaguena Mr. Smith states, "Ahhh... the culmination of it all... I loved ths song when the Cadets played this in 2003 and when the Boston Crusaders pulled a 15 man snareline cleanly also that year coming into this song. This movement will have our true nature and our determination to pull from the laughing stock area and move into "contendor-ville". I personally can not wait to see this on the field and hear it on finals night."

Brass Arranger, Drill and Visual Director: Carl Difenbach
Brass Caption Head: Todd Clontz
Brass Consultant: Joel Guyton
Brass Consultant and Marching Director: Marlon Moran

Percussion Caption Head and Arranger Consultant: Michael Dawson
Percussion Arranger: Cameron Willey
Percussion Consultant: David Smith
Percussion Consultant: Gerald Mitchell
Color Guard/Weapons and Dance Instructor: Brandy Smith

Mr. Smith states, "As you saw in my last release to the directors I kept the staff the same with the exception of Kris Marsh who I believe in now rumored to be thinking of joining this organization. We are currently holding auditions and will make another press announcement with section numbers when we close auditions."

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL FLODC DIRECTORS*

The Engineers Drum and Bugle Corps from Brunswick, Maryland have finalized the corps members and breakdown. Mr. Smith states, "The corps will be comprised of 135 members, out of over 700 auditionees. We will field 15 First Trumpets (which will be Eb piccolo trumpets), 12 Second Trumpets (The Bb Trumpets), and 11 Third Cornets (G sopranos). The Rest of the brass brings 10 Contrabasses, 8 Baritones, and 7 Euphoniums. The Percussion will march 10 Snares, 5 Squints, 5 Bass, and 10 pit. Finally, Our guard will have 20 Flag members and 20 Weaponry who will use flags very briefly. I Also announce that we will have 2 Drum Majors out of 10 in the corps whio have tried out. This Corps gives us what we need to blow away the competition in our fiery show with all the hot, latin songs that we will perform. We are starting drill in a few weeks after the corps remembers our music. One last note, I have seen many press releases from our esteemed competitors and I wish them the best of luck in the season. Questions?"

Reporter 1: "Why did you decide to become a latin show band like the Boston Crusaders of DCI?"

Mr. Smith: "First, before I answer, we are a corps. Now, I feel we needed to go more dynamic in our quest for gold so we went to these fast-paced songs."

Reporter 2: "Mr. Smith, I'm curious of one thing, why announce the show, the staff, and the member listings so quickly?"

Mr. Smith: "We wanted to go ahead and let everyone know that we are ready to start and become our best before they know what hits them." "No more Questions from the Press? Good, a word for the other directors is if you feel lucky to become our rival, just give an E-mail and we'll be glad to see you on the field."

The Engineers have retinkered the Setup to their corps look. Mr. Scott Smith States, "I have cut 5 of our lead trumpets, 4 of out second trumpets and 4 of our third trumpets. In place of those I have called in 9 Mellophones, 1 Contrabass and 1 Baritone to even out the sound. Officially we are marching 10 Lead Trumpets, 8 Second Trumpets and 7 Third Trumpets in our high brass area... Our middle area now holds 6 First Mellowphones and 4 Second Mellophones and We are marching 4 lead Euphoniums, 4 second Euphoniums, 7 Lead Contrabasses, and 4 Second Contrabasses. We feel that this balanceing out will help with our eveness of our sound though our lead soprano line will still be smoking hot."

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DLOFDC DIRECTORS*

The Engineers have set their move in date to May 29th and will go until the day before tour. Mr. Scott Smith, Corps' Director states, "This decision of our move in date has helped the staff in figuring out what to do for the week to get them ready. I made the announcement to the staff and the corps a few weekends ago, but have remained silent about it until today. The music is coming along very well but we need to just continue cleaning. The percussion is very talented and always excels in the challenges that Mr. Dawson and Mr. Willey place them into. I believe they have learned the music just are now working on cleaning the Opener and Second Piece, which are Durango and El Cumanchero, respectively. Malaguena is sounding like a dream for the corps but we are still shaky at points where there's different enterances. (Pause) Though this corps is very well developed we are still behind, in my opinion of the Guard who haven't really paid attention to the instructors but should come around once the kids see the instructors for 3-4 weeks straight at Move-ins. the staff has really surprised me in the fact that I asked about when the music should be written and be gotten to the band and they said, "It's ready now, want to give it to them?". Needless to say I was shocked at that response and especially from the Brass section improvement. I decided I will not be the third Tech for the line for most of our members are returning vets and they can help the young guns. Questions before this is over?"

Reporter 1: "Still, you haven't given locations or any other evidence of the move-in/ training camp/ 4 weeks of he||, why?"

Smith: "I did not wish to have the reporters or other people seeing the corps and distracting them from their duties, therefore, the location is not available for the press to know. I can say this about the corps and the move-in week, The location is very secluded but allows for everything to be done and Our corps will have a different genre of music that we will explore next year."

Reporter 2: "This Corps has been known for many problems in health and safety... what have you done to prevent that?"

Smith: "How did you... ahem, anyway I know that leaked out somewhere but we have rented out 4 tour busses from the Virginia Bus Co., 2 Equipment Trailers, one for the instruments and one for the medical facilities, Finally we bought 2 Cooking trailers for the Corps so the corps may be in the best of health and well nourished. In addition, I have hired Nelson and Joan Smith as Health heads with Kelli Loy as an EMT stand by. I have also hired Bobby Flay and Masaharu Morimoto as our chefs for the corps for our diversity in the corps. So if they wish to have Sushi or good japanese food, then we have Morimoto-San as an option but if they want something more American then Flay will be available. If the kids are in need of just regular old style food, then our medical staff will also cook and help Mr. Flay and Morimoto-san for the meals we will enjoy. As I am speaking, the Medical staff is being taught by both Flay and Morimoto about what to do. Any more Questions? No? Good, then we will see you after training."

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DLOFDC DIRECTORS*

The Engineers have left their Spring Training area en route to the D1 Qualification show. Mr. Smith, Corps Director States by E-mail, " We have learned about half of our drill and from what I can see, we have a good chance of making Division 1 this summer. I wish to thank all the sponsers, families and the members themselves for their patience in this time period. I state the following with much pleasure as I say that the physicality of the corps and the mindset is greatly improved thanks to the new Medical Staff and our chefs." Mr. Smith has remained silent as to where the training grounds are but reporters have seen the corps at Towson University, but attempts to see the corps have been unsuccessful in the fact that no one in the corps is present at the Campus. We will keep updates as they come in on the Engineers Drum and Bugle Corps.

*PRESS RELEASE TO DLOFDC DIRECTORS*

The Engineers Drum and Bugle Corps have gone to Towson University to give their show preview to the parents and all interested Drum Corps fans. Mr. Scott Smith, Corps' Director, states, "This performance marks the fifth run-through that the young performers have done. I see that we are still a little shaky in our positions on the field but that is expected to be occurring at this point in time. After the show we are getting onto the tour bus and leaving for Fullerton, California for our first show of the season. I also have an announcement of our Home Show's name, which will be called "Drums along the Tracks" which will be held next month. I am just very proud of how the staff has challenged the corps but how the students themselves have excelled. We have decided to release one of our chefs for lack of interest in his style of cuisine. We are sorry to announce the release of Chef Masaharu Morimoto. The staff has decided however to sign another chef with the knowledge of what this culture eats, so we are proud to announce that Bobby Flay will now be teaming up with Tyler Florence to help in the cooking duties and he has begun to train the help we have in what he will prepare for the students. Any Questions?"

Reporter 1: "Has the injuries that were rumored last year continued to plague your corps?"

Smith: "Actually, we have helped prevent a lot of injuries and have only had one drop out due to an unpreventable injury which is really unfortunate. We have sent home the musician and used an Alternate that we have from about 30 to take that person's spot."

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DIRECTORS*

The Engineers Drum and Bugle Corps have begun this season on a very high note this week, culminating at the Normal, IL competition against many DLOFDC front-runners and the defending champions. Mr. Smith, Corps' Director, states, "This corps has started hot off the blocks of this season, much like last season but we plan to keep up near the top of the division and make our way into finals. Our guard has improved massively during this week. The staf has tinkered around with our middle pieces, which are Tiger of San Pedro and La Fiesta, and have made a fantastic transition into them. Malaguena has become a song to reckon with and we have made it a very interesting piece, for we are trying to make little transitions into our previous songs to bring the show together. Overall we can make finals with points to spare and maybe get a top 5 finish." Since no reporters are with the corps, except for myself, this concludes the press release.

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DIRECTORS IN DLOFDC*

The Engineers Drum and Bugle Corps have had a fantastic second week and a half this season in the DLOFDC. The fun finally finished at the South Point, Ohio show last night. Mr. Scott Smith, Corps' Director, states, "Oh my gosh! I can't believe the scores we just got from the judges. We had a fantastic show and during the break on July 3rd we changed our show to further improve it and boy did we do it. I believe we scored an 82-even just edging out VK Star by only a point. I checked the standings and I am proud to say that we are currently leading the Division 1 standings in the DLOFDC. These kids and the instructors have put everything they have into the show and I cannot thank them enough." Though there were no other press around the corps, Mr. Smith did continue with this: "I feel that this year we may actually win the title and become the best in the DLOFDC with a little more tweaking to the overall show to further enhance the styles shown in the program. Though this sounds very cocky on my behalf, I feel that we will be a force to reckon with."

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DLOFDC DIRECTORS*

The promise that was made to the Engineers from YgiBoo has been proved to be a false truth. The Engineers have won the Gorham, NY show defeating the very confident YogiBoo as well as many front runners in the DLOFDC. Mr. Smith states, "We worked our butts off for this win and wish to thank all the kids and their parents, as well as our sponsers for their contributions in our quest for the title."

eh, maybe... who knows? we might defeat you in Boston so we'll find out very soon. Also make up better excuses for the loss... you're beginning to sound like cincinnatiglorymello on DCP when his fantasy corps lost a few times.

Update during edit: Some scores were authentic like my Crossmen and Crown Scores. Make sure you double check, then try the inflation deal for my victory.

Another edit: Only one score was inflated and that was my GE visual score by the projection method. All the others dropped or stayed the same exceot for the Crown and X-men scores which were also increased but they went out.

Hi, I just wanted to chime in this conversation to let everyone know that the DRUNKS aren't going away, so when you talk about beating Yogiboo, you have to start wondering...."Would I have beaten Whiskey River Regiment?"

The answer to that question for 7/6 would be NO.

Hi Scott! YogiBoo's corps director here! YogiBoo scored an 82.20 at tonight's competition. I just wanted to let you know what your captions would have been for tonight if you had competed:

Code:
GE Mus GE Vis Brass Perc Ens VPerf Guard VEns

17.1 17.1 16.4 15.5 15.1 16 14.9 15

thats a grand total of 80.65 for you!

Oh, Whiskey River Regiment, DC Scandals and The Guardsmen would have scored higher than you too
