The Guardsmen are proud to present their results and comments from the July 12th, and 19th shows. On the 12th the Guardsmen placed 2nd behind Vk Star once again, with a score of 78.95. " I was much more pleased with our Visual performance than the one we performned on opening night," said corp director Ryan Galasso. The corp placed less than one piont from VK. They also took the High Brass and High Music awards." I dont think we are going to make much changes in the show right know." We are making good process and we will see how our results come out. Tonight the corps placed a dissapionting 6th place. " We played somewhat at our potential but the other corps came ready to play and it showed in the scores," said Ryan. We didnt take high Music this competition like we've had all year, but we did manage to hold on to high brass once again. THey corp is looking for some fine tuning to do before the next contest.

Press Release form the Guardsmen! "The corps keeps getting better and better, but little by little," was a quote taken by corps director Ryan Galasso yesterday. The Guardsmen placed 5th at Baltimore, MD and took the High Brass and GE captions. The corps put up a score of 79.60. ")Our brass section was smoking!" said Ryan. Our visual performance and our percussion dragged us down once again. "We will have to prepare them for the season better next time." Our percussion doesn't have any chances to show what its made of in our show except the solos. We need to spice up our show flavor for next year. I'm going to keep mental note of all performance changes we need to make in order to be the best. Tonight the Guardsmen Performa at the DLO south Regional and will be performing around the 16th spot. Come out and support the corps!

Guardsmen News! "The crowd loved it" was what corps director Ryan Galasso explained about the home crowd reaction at the "Central Ohio Classic" tonight. "The corps played the best they had all season" The corps put up an 86.60. And once again brought back the high brass award. The corps percussion and visual performance scores rose almost 2 points each! The only part of the corps score that went own from last night was under the visual ensemble caption and it was only 2 tenths of a point. The crowd gave a extremely positive reaction when the corps was done performing and the corps could hold their heads high after nearly taking 2nd place from YogiBoo. Being only 2 tenths behind them. "The corps has a new spirit in them to finished out the season strong, and I would love to see them make the cut into the finals. It would be a major goal accomplished and the corps deserves it after all their hard work they put forth this year." The remaining corps schedule is; July 30th "Drum Corps Hits Philly" in PA August 2nd The DLO East Championships in NJ August 7-9 World Championships in Chicago, IL. Come out to see the corps at these few remaining performances. You will be amazed in how much work and effort these guys pout in during any given week. The corps would also like to invite guests whom have already seen the show, back out and see it again to see the dramatic changes the corps has undertaken. The corps looks forward to seeing you at finals in Chicago, IL!

Guardsmen News from the Semi's "It was incredible" Ryan Galasso was in amazement of his corps performance at the Semifinals tonight. The corps placed 8th with a score of 88.85, their best yet. "The corps stepped it up yet another notch tonight and I am extremely proud of them." The corps GE caption rose 4 tenths of a point and our brass section another 3 tenths. The color guard showed drastic improvement improving their score by a whole point. "This finals week the corps has been extremely focused. They know what I demand of them and they have given it to me this week. I am extremely proud of their accomplishments. Our brass section has carried the corps on their back since the beginning. Our percussion section and visual aspects of our show dragged the corps but the brass kept us afloat. After a few changes in our show the visual program in running awesome and our percussion section is finding it's way although not to the caliber of my expectations but it will do for now. Not much we can do about it with one competition left. So for tat being said pay that 50 dollar ticket and come see the finals performance it's going to be an awesome show and really close at the top. You wont be disappointed." from an interview with Ryan after the semi's in Chicago this evening.

Guardsmen Year in Review! Article taken for "The Columbus Dispatch" As the corps came off from the field at finals some were crying, some were happy, and some were pumped up. Most of the age outs left gloves, shoes and sticks on the field as a tradition remembering all of the good times this activity has brought them. This was a great season for them. The Guardsmen's first year in DLOFDC and they finished in 5th place behind the Brassiers, YogioBoo, DC Scandals, and Kama Sutra corps. The corps was up and down all season long. the corps director Ryan Galasso intensely rehearsed the corps all of finals week and the corps played their show at the highest caliber possible. It effected everyone who saw the show. Their brass section brought me to tears at moments for their screaming performance. The corps has a lot to look forward to for next season as the corps is searching for a new show and music selections. The corps is also getting audition material ready for next season. They should be a great corps with many good traditions. The corps will be getting a new percussion and visual caption heads for next year. The corps was extremely happy with their equipment and will stay with Yamaha for next year. The Guardsmen will hopefully have the auditions up soon and be smoking with next years show, which should be a good one. When thinking of a corps to join don't count out the sleeping bear! Guardsmen News! "WOW", was Ryan Galasso's reactions to his corps performance yesterday. The corps placed first with a score of 68.65 in W. Lafayette yesterday. "It took a while for the scores to come in, but I knew we played well." The corps has never won a competition. Last year the corps placed under 1st the whole year and got 5th at finals. I guess its just the luck of the draw. "Our show still has alot a lot of work to do in it, but I think we have a shot at a championship with our program this year. The judges must really dig the upbeat swing style that we are playing. I am really impressed with the corps and we have tomorrow off, so we will sweat out our rough spots in practice tomorrow and defiantly have an even better show for you on Monday." The corps would like all of your support in their drive for a championship, so come out and support them.

Guardsmen News!
The corps was making steady progress at the past 3 shows. With scores of 84.29, 84.40, and 84.60, until last night when the corps released their potential and raw power into one awesome performance, scoring an 85.40! "Our guard was spectacular, just spectacular! said corps director Ryan Galasso after the corps left the field. "My hat is off to them. They have put in show much hard worm and it finally pays off. Our brass tonight was a little more something to be desired, but they weren't terrible. Our percussion performance was, not the best we've seen but enough to get by. If we can make some key adjustments we can be unstoppable." The race at the top of Div 1 is very close. The top 5 corps are separated by 8 tenths of a point! "If we can haul in all of our concentration at the next 2 regionals and finals, I will be extremely happy for the corps." The corps performances tonight in Ocala, Fla. Come and see on of the top corps in al of drum corps!

Guardsmen News!
As the summer goes by the Guardsmen keep making great changes to add to the stunning ability of their show. The show in Clarksburg on the 19th came out to be the best of the season, an 87.50! "Our GE score had dropped slightly, but every other caption rose from the night before," said corps director Ryan Galasso. "I would like to make a few changes and add some more drill here and there, but what you have seen is pretty much the finish product, minus some cleaning of the music and drill." On the 20th the corps grabbed another first place finish in Scranton, with a 87.10! Not our best stuff, but it got us through," said Ryan. "We had some minor problems in the 2nd movement, but nothing that can't be fixed with some sweat!" The corps looks for you to be at their next show in Hyde Park, NY tonight!

Guardsmen News
The Guardsmen have had two wonderful performances since last weeks Guardsmen News. On the 21st in Hyde park, NY, the corps scored a first place 87.05. "We tried out a few changes tonight that we had put in our show and I must say that I love them! They are a little dirty right know, but some sweat will fix that," said corps director Ryan Galasso. On the 22nd the corps came away with another first place win in Bethlehem, PA with an 89.20! "We rehearsed our rough spots hard earlier today and they came out beautifully," said Galasso. "The changes make a huge impact in the opener, Wind Machine! "We still have to get through the next couple of shows before we get a rehearsal day to hit the drill hard, but we should be fine" Come out and see the Guardsmen try to tackle the next of Div 1 in Allentown, PA tomorrow.
