The Fivesters will have a tryout camp followed by the first camp. The tryout camp will be May 14th 15th and 16th of 2004. The Schedule is as follows. Friday 5pm check in Drumline- Centennial High School Brass-Page High School Color Guard- Liberty Elementary Division II Drumline-Freedom Intermediate Color Guard-Johnson Elementary Brass-Freedom Middle Everyone will check in at the same time. 6pm warmup and start getting to learn technique and warmups8pm Drumlines from both corps will get together and talk Brass and Color Guard will do the same. Everyone will meet at Centennial High School 9pm Meeting (both Corps) 10pm nite nite Saturday everyone meets at Centennial High School 6am wake up and eat breakfast 7am warmup and technique 9am Division I Drill mini session 10am Meeting with the drill instructors (Division I only) 11am Division II drill mini session noon Division II meets with drill instructors noon Division I Lunch 1pm Division II lunch 1pm Sectionals (Division I only) 2pm Division I staff meeting with full corps 2pm sectionals (Division II only) 3pm Full Corps meeting (Both Divisions) 4pm warmup and mini drill session (Both divisions) 6pm Dinner (Both Divisions) 7pm Full Corps (Both divisions) 9pm Meeting (Division I and II in different places) 10pm nite nite Sunday 8am wake up and eat breakfast 9am meeting with corps (Different places) 11am technique and warmup (both corps in the same place) noon Lunch (Both corps) 2pm Drill mini session 3pm Meeting with staff (Division I only) 3pm Sectionals and Meeting with Sectional staff (Division II only) 5pm check out. This is the schedule for the tryouts. The next camp will be may 23rd 24th and 25th Both corps will be in different schools. The Fivesters will be getting new stuff in come next week. The Fivester Cadets will be marching with the old drums. I will be keeping you up to date with the new things. These are the possibilities: New uniforms Drums Brass horns ColorGuard flags New truck along with the old truck New sticks and mallets Podiums and other good stuff. Cadet Rifles for ColorGuardWe will also get the Boston Uniform. Boston Uniform for corps We will also get the Aussie Hats (Black with red feathers) Aussie Hats (black with Red feathers) These are our sabres for the following year. Action Sabrs

The staff has made their decision. The corps will have these many people after a hard decision meeting held yesterday. Drumline: 10 snares 5 basses 5 tenors 10 pit 14 mellophones 20 trumpets 16 baritones 7 tubas 2 Drum Majors 32 Color Guard (flag, rifle, and sabre) This is the update. The calls have been made to the qualifying members. Old members returned but some were outplayed by younger and more talented. It's a sad thing to have to let them go. The staff can only keep so many people. Fivesters Notes of Doom by: Donald Hasey The Fivesters will have another camp this coming weekend. here is the schedule. May 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st. To: All Division I and II Directors and Staff From: Music City Fivesters Date: Wednesday, June 2nd 2004 Location: Marriot Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. To all the director of DLOFDC: The Fivesters organization is inviting you to accompany us to a formal dinner in the Marriot Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. This will celebrate the second season of DLOFDC as to the creation of the new corps in Division I and II. We hope that all the directors and staff can be there but we know that the corps can keep you busy. This is also a small fundraiser made by the Fivesters. We will be auctioning certain things to remember from Season 1. Local corps fans and fundraiser associates will be there as well. The dinner will be completely free to all the directors and the staff. If you plan to come please do email or pm the director and the tour coordinator. They will be both heading this fundraiser. This is not just for the Division I Fivesters but also for the Division II Fivesters Cadets. We hope that everyone can make it. The Move-in date has been scheduled. The Corps will move in together into the different housings around the Centennial High School area on Friday, June 11th. The Corps will stay there until Wednesday, June 16th. Then the corps will pack and travel to California to join the tour. The Schedule goes as it is. June 11th Friday Move in to housing around Franklin-5pm Be at CHS by-7pm 7:30pm-meeting with full corps to discuss schedule 8:30-Sectionals 10pm-Nite nite Saturday 8am- rehersal on the field 10am-Sectionals noon-lunch in the school 1pm-drill and music rehersal4pm-runthroughs 6pm-dinner 7pm-runthrough 9pm-nite nite Sunday-Off This is the time to spend with your "Corps Parents" They have done everything for you to enjoy the time that you will be in Franklin. Go and have fun before the tour comes into your life for the summer. Make sure to have everything ready to go on tour as well this day. Last minute packing is not something that you want to do. There are various places that you can go to see your corps home. Nashville has great Civil War battlesites as the other cities around it. Enjoy them because you will be spending some time here as well. The Fivesters organization will be teaming up with other corps in the DLOFDC world. The Jackson Flares and the Emerald Regiment from Division III are teamed up with the organization created called "GM", this organization was built to help each of the corps in it. The members of the board could only accept 5 corps at a time. The Five corps are: Music City Fivesters Mighty Crimson Knights Fiversters Cadets Emerald Regiment Jackson Flares The members of the board at GM are proud to have their support and talent along. There will be an annual meeting which will conclude at the end of the season to discuss new things going on and if the corps should unite or not.

The Music City Fivesters,Jackson Flares, Fivesters Cadets want to announce something that has not been done in DLOFDC yet. With help of the GM Organization these corps are uniting together in a family day event. On July 10th which is the day of the DLO South Championships the corps will be joining and bringing in special activities from clinics to one on one lessons for free to the public. The day will be wrapped up with a special appearance by our friends from Golden Corral which will donate the food to our corps and the public as well. After this our friends and families can enjoy the Championship at the stadium and watch our corps play with pride. This is what will happen that day and who will be coming in from our staff to give freebies and tips on all of the sections. Clinics and Entertainment J.J LaFonte,Ashley LaFonte,Bobby Lewis-Brass music and appreciation (he will also play some music as well "free stuff will be handed out") Brad Peterson,Tony Ashes,Ron Branning- Marching Instruction and Execution (demonstrations and technique "free demo of marching software will be handed out") John Moreau,Dale Williams,Ronald Martin-Visual Consideration (Visuals that work) talks about how the visuals are not needed everywhere but where they would give most effect. Brandon Asley,Devon Mickson,Cadence Cartwright- Leadership and Effect in Drum Majors. How to direct and execute your corps at the same time. (demonstrations by Fivesters and Flares Drum Majors) Donnis Barko,Mark Steep,Carl Major-Percussion (Marching and Playing Techniques) demonstrations will be available to the public by our three corps.(free drumsticks and mallets) Tom Combs,Ashley Owens,Rebecca Parmer-Color Guard and Weapon turnouts. (The art and dance of guard) raffle for a brand new rifle and saber. Along with these instructors there will be a 6 members (2 of each corps) demonstrating solos and technique and equipment. These people will be there as well giving freebies out and letting you know of their products. ProMark, Vic Firth, Innovative Percussion, Vater, Pearl, Zildjian, Silverfox, Yamaha, Ross, Sabian, Remo, Ludwig, Evans, American Drum, Rowl Off Productions, Tapspace, Coda Music, Sibelius, DrumProMag, Drumbum, Steve Weiss Music, DCI Booth, James Cuevas (Artist), Pasic Booth, WGI Booth. These Booths will be available to the public for free. Golden Corral will provide: Chicken Mashed Potatoes Fish Pork Corn Green Beans Peas Salad of all kinds (fruit and vegetable) Apple Pie and Cobbler Peach Cobbler Ice Cream We thank our Good Friends Of Golden Corral for donating all of this for our upcoming "Family and Clinic Events" Do join us in the Parking lot as well to hear our three corps warm up and compete. GM Organization would like to present the 1st annual Corps of GM in a clinic.
The Corps will be doing this clinic on August 5th during the whole day. When the corps is not performing or warming up to perform they will be spending the day helping the youngsters understand the art of drum corps and the technique of it.
The corps that are available for this clinic will be: Mighty Crimson Knights Emerald Regiment Music City Fivesters Jackson Flares Fivesters Cadets The Guardsmen Association will be making a short visit to the clinic. Each tech will have their booth alone or with another corps’ tech for this clinic.
