The Music City Fivesters are proud to present their Season 2 Marching Show.

"Action of Nature"

The show will consist of Form, Light, and Sound.
The show is being written by Hal Leonard.

The drill is being designed by our drill writers and our caption heads. This show is being set to wonderful music and tone. The Fivesters will let the crowd know what the flag designs are going to be and all of the other things.

"The Fivesters welcome young members into the corps"

The older Fivesters that marched with the corps last year welcome the new Fivesters to be for the coming year. The Fivesters say that they hope this season goes as well as the last one. They are proud of those who made it to the meeting nite in Nashville. The members were noticed by e-mail or mail so the press would not interfere with it. Some of the upcoming members think that this corps will do great and move up in the charts from a finishing 11th place to a hopeful 5th place. "The show has a good meaning and if it's executed right by our corps it will turns some heads around," this was said by Lisa Simpson our age out drum captain for the First Fivesters last season. She will be marching with the Music City Legend, a local DCA corps. She will also be teaching at local high schools. Many things have been heard from her and they will be heard. She just finished her college education at MTSU and will be going on to hopefully become a band director. Another member that will bring shine to our corps will be former Cavaliers snare drummer Lou Bash. He told us that the Fivesters made him think twice. He wanted to start again and decided to do it here in the heart of country music. "Even though this corps may be in its 2nd year it will be a great year," he said these words himself. Many of the crowding fans for the Fivesters have seen some changes throughout last season and will see it again this season.
The meeting dinner was just what the people and the members need it. They got to know old members and age out members and got to know the staff a little bit better. Donnis Barko, the Percussion Caption Head was there and scouted some young talent for the line coming from the local high schools. He told them that it gives him great joy to be working with the outstanding talent that he sees. Even though most of those youngins will not make the line considering we have an outstanding turnout of 60 drummers coming to audition he says that he is proud of just having those kids here and that they were all winners to him. The corps wishes that they could grab those drummers and let them march but there was no way that could happen. The Director of the corps Patricia Hernandez is not more proud than she already is. She will be watching some of the auditions and be looking at the talent that she has for the next season to come. She was not seen at the meeting since she was scouting some talent on the western border. She had seen some WGI talent over there that she would love to have in her corps so she is basically on the business trip. Donnis Barko served as the head person for that night. It was a great night and hopefully it will bring more talent along.

"Fivesters to find a good home"

The Fivesters will have the usual camps and move ins before the tour starts. Many families have volunteered to help with the corps members to stay at their house. The Nashvillians have donated their time and attention towards our corps and will be helping us with move in. We are starting a program this year called corps parents. The members will stay with a corps parent unless they live in Nashville or fairly close. The corps parent will act like a normal parent except the blood will not be related.
Some of the corps parents are excited to be helping us out. We are also starting the program in Florida with our Division II Fivesters Cadets. The corps will have some free days and will enjoy the cities that they visit during the season. The move in day has not been announced yet. The date is still a work in progress according to the staff. Both of the corps will come to the same location and then the Division II will leave. This makes it easier to have all the staff together for a while before starting the tour. The entire staff both division I and II will be working together throughtout the summer. They will be asking for help and such things.

"Fivesters have a new angle"

The corps director Patricia Hernandez will be deciding along with the staff to keep some of the young talent that they saw at tryouts. Patricia said that the talent among the players was wonderful and full of life. She thought that the auditions were a success. Donnis Barko said that the drummers that he had were about 60 both in battery and pit.

He wishes to keep the battery at,
16 snares
8 tenors
6 basses
6 cymbals
20 pit

basically 4 people will be not be getting a call for the next camp.

The horns have been set already

The corps will have,
30 trumpets
25 mellophones
8 tubas
20 baritones

30 flags/rifles/sabres

2 drum majors

This is the amount that we are going to have for the next season.

The staff has made their decision.

The corps will have these many people after a hard decision meeting held yesterday.

Drumline:
10 snares
5 basses
5 tenors
10 pit

14 mellophones
20 trumpets
16 baritones
7 tubas

2 Drum Majors

32 Color Guard (flag, rifle, and sabre)

This is the update. The calls have been made to the qualifying members. Old members returned but some were outplayed by younger and more talented. It's a sad thing to have to let them go. The staff can only keep so many people.

The Fivesters would like to invite you to a formal dinner.

To: All Division I and II Directors and Staff

From: Music City Fivesters

Date: Wednesday, June 2nd 2004

Location: Marriot Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

To all the director of DLOFDC:

The Fivesters organization is inviting you to accompany us to a formal dinner in the Marriot Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. This will celebrate the second season of DLOFDC as to the creation of the new corps in Division I and II. We hope that all the directors and staff can be there but we know that the corps can keep you busy. This is also a small fundraiser made by the Fivesters. We will be auctioning certain things to remember from Season 1. Local corps fans and fundraiser associates will be there as well. The dinner will be completely free to all the directors and the staff. If you plan to come please do email or pm the director and the tour coordinator. They will be both heading this fundraiser. This is not just for the Division I Fivesters but also for the Division II Fivesters Cadets. We hope that everyone can make it.

Patricia Hernandez

Fivesters Notes of Doom

The Fivesters organization will be partnering with certain corps this summer. The Fivesters will be partering with two organizations this summer.

The Mighty Crimson Knights from Division I and The Emerald Regiment from Division II. These are two of the finest corps that could be united by the organization called "GM Organization."

This union will hopefully bring more students to the competitive drum corps world.

We wish everyone good luck in the next season!

When are you going to include the schedule for people to use the restrooms? That seems to be the only thing you haven't included yet.

Actually I just find time to do it. If you have less time to do stuff and you need to get something done you can always do it. Less time is better, more time is just waste.

Between work, DLOFDC, packing for trip, practicing, and writing music it gets even better.

The Fivesters organization will be teaming up with other corps in the DLOFDC world. The Jackson Flares and the Emerald Regiment from Division III are teamed up with the organization created called "GM", this organization was built to help each of the corps in it. The members of the board could only accept 5 corps at a time. The Five corps are:

Music City Fivesters
Mighty Crimson Knights
Fiversters Cadets
Emerald Regiment
Jackson Flares

The members of the board at GM are proud to have their support and talent along. There will be an annual meeting which will conclude at the end of the season to discuss new things going on and if the corps should unite or not.

The Music City Fivesters appear on TV

The Fivesters had an exciting crowd awaiting their departure practices. The crowd was basically there to see the show. The wonderful fans say that this season will be the next big thing for Nashville. The Music City Fivesters believe that with their show "Action of Nature" with form, light, and sound, things will work differently this year. The Section leaders and drum majors are very happy that the tour is going to start. Drum Majors Jessica Thorough and Al Hipens are very excited to not see other corps but see what new things come this season. Adding to the shows are the new fans that became accustomed to the world of drum corps. Channel 5 News was there to tape it all and show Nashville what lucky thing we have. Director Patricia Hernandez says that she could not be more excited for her corps believing that they are ready to go. She also stated that this year the corps has become stronger meaning a better chance to make it into the top 8 and going to the Summer Music Games. Karl Lonn says that the Summer Music Games is the overall challenge of the corps. They want to stay close to home as possible while competing all around the country.

The Music City Fivesters will be leaving tomorrow for tour.

On the Road to Cali!!!!

The tour numero dos kicks in tomorrow. The Fivesters found themselves on the way to California and we're excited to know that the season starts on Friday. The staff was excited and wanted to get to tour as soon as possible but with only one day left their dreams will come true. The Fivesters will look sharp in their new uniforms and accessories. The tour is expected to be the best ever. The Fivesters want to add the special thanks to the GM Organization for helping them out with advertising and such things. The Fivesters section leaders and drum majors will be doing a live interview from their home show and their around shows. Having some of the best drummers and horn players from around tennessee and the surrounding areas the Fivesters are very proud to begin their new season. The road to Cali would be a great thing to experience since the Fivesters are on a bus without the whole field experience and a more close experience. The Fivesters will hold the familyhood of their life. This is the part of their life they will sleep, eat, and think drum corps. The great things in life come in a summer. WE hope this summer is the one that they enjoy the most.

Fivesters Notes of Doom

It seems that the judges made a mistake on the score sheet for the june 19th competition. The scores are still being tallied. While the Fivesters are in second to last things may change in a heartbeat. The director says that they had a great show and that the show today will be even better.

Hey Fivesters! What do you guys think to spending some good ol' fundraising cash on taking our corps out to eat at Golden Corral after all the scores come in from the July 25 show? Good luck, and we'll check back with you as soon as scores are finalized.

Being so involved with the corps in their tour Donald Hasey has been quite busy scheduling with our Tour Coordinator and the director to bring quite a show out here. We will be bringing the Fivesters Fans some news as soon as Mr.Hasey gets settled in from an exhausting tour schedule.

Fivesters Notes of Doom

The Music City Fivesters were happy to hear that all their hard work has done some good. The crowd roar of the stadium as the came off the field in Bakersfield, CA. They were appily announced 2nd place. 75.85 was the score and the Fivesters had it then and there. The Action of Nature had some ways of showing. Even though there's some work to be done in the ballad still the corps is finalizing their show. Corps Director Patricia Hernandez says that this season is tougher than the first season but the Fivesters will accept a challenge.

Fivesters Notes of Doom

The Music City Fivesters have been scoring well and not so well this past couple of days. The staff is making some final decisions on the show to be ready for Denver. The corps director Patricia Hernandez is making some decision about the staff that she has. The staff is thinking they may need some help from age outs from the last season. Lisa Simpson from the Fivesters Cadets will be making an appearance to the Music City Fivesters this coming weekend. They are making some changes in the effect and overall music. More booms are being added as well. Rumors are that new music and drill will be ahead. Look out but the Fivesters are coming back.
