Well, our cymbals are old and impossibly covered in fingerprints all ready. I just don't dig the glove idea. If you were going to get them, I'd make sure they went with the uniform first and have the instructors okay it. If you were wanting them just for practice, then you shouldn't use them. They will just get you used to (possibly dependant upon) a luxury which you won't have for shows. Besides, callous is sexy.

When I was in High School our Cymbals Players never wore gloves during performances or etc. But they had the option of purchasing regular military white gloves to used during cold rehearsal and performances.

I'm with BismarkUMD. Go with the Zildjian gloves. Full-leather grip is pretty darn awesome. I have noticed a few rips at the seams, but I would still recommend them. They come in a thin orange box.

We used to use weight lifting gloves from Wal-Mart, but this year we went with batting gloves to prevent sweat and oils from building up on the cymbals, and they work pretty well

well i personaly wear weight lifting gloves with out and seems at the knuckles its better when you do a lot of playing anda lot o visuals because you dont blister your knuckles or rub them raw

Where i go to school we use Nike KEystone gloves and they work amanzingly well we all love them. For the cymbal flip down it is sort of a flick of the wrist it is hard to tll you without showing you though and this is with the "garfeild" grip

Yeah our line doesn't wear gloves. Just like someone said above, we wear gloves only when its cold, but I live in Tennessee, it rarely gets cold enough to wear gloves.

In Indoor, we don't wear gloves, but at Magic, we'll be wearing gloves.

Nike Keystones . . . And yes, they do indeed rock. They're mad comfortable. Although, personally, I don't condone the use of gloves for cymbals. I think "stop being a [Cat] and just tough it out."

The cymbal players in my drumline just use Nike batting gloves that we got for like 18 bucks. They are nice tight are a lot better than just bare hands if fact in kinda feels weird playing without gloves on now. And they they never get in the way of playing
