Ok, you have seen the news from SCV, they are now using Dynasty drums. Well you want to see them?

We planned on switching to Yamaha next season, but somebody called willing to bend over backwards to have us continue our sponsorship after the contract goes up. I guess Paul R. designed a new snare for Dynasty that we would be getting. The only real reason that I would be upset not to switch would be the weight of our tenors. New drums does not mean lighter drums.

All that said, I can't wait to see SCV rock these new drums. Change can be a good thing.

Looks good, I think they are improving the quality like has been mentioned so it depends on how the drum is tuned to get a real quality sound like Rennick had with Phantom. I think they have the best tenor/quad sound but some say they are heavy so can`t win everything.

The real trick is to tune not crank where in most cases you choke the sound and can`t hear it. With the new drum design and type of heads you really don`t have to have the drum real tight since it will sound good right away. People used to crank mylar because it would stretch and the pitch got lower.

Rinnick I was told had some design changes to the drums, SCV is famous for moding their drums ( pennies,BB's,internal funnels(87)) so it will be cool to see what he changed and what Gadget Magic he come up with.

It should be noted these are not the SCV A corps' drums. These are the SCV Winter Percussion drums. Not sure if SCV Cadets might use these though but I guess we'll wait and see. Chances are we'll see some slightly different design elements to the drums the A corps uses this summer.

Good, then there is more to come, besides change is a good thing.

P.s. Vanguard Cadets,Winter Guard are still SCV, World Class isn't everything.
