Alright I am a little confused on the all the information that is being told on this thread. I actually still use that mount on our practice drums.. It is a Randall May break away bracket, well half of one, made for Pearl up to about 2005 or 2006. couple problems you have

1, you need the other half. if you need ill post a picture tomorrow of the part you need. you can't mount it on a carrier.

2, from the side picture you see where there is a hole on the
"C" clamp that clamps on to the tension posts? Their is a very long tension rod that goes there and essentially squeezes the tension post to keep it mounted. this was later redesigned in 2006. maybe earlier. either way I would not, and stress NOT use that mount until you get that tension rod.

the only thin you can do is maybe you an old Pearl Staduim stand with that bracket plate. (that is if you get the tension rod)the other half has the adapters to mount on J rods.

as of now that whole bracket is discontinued, Pearl no longer used Randall May hardware. I am sure you can dig around and find a used part but it could be a hassle.

I would either buy a new bracket like. this

or a whole new snare carrier as mentioned.. they usually come with a bracket

now if you want a cheap route. the thing at the bottom that people have describe as a clip. that was standard for Pearl to add on to all drums up until mid 2000. most of people removed them. but now if you want to use that as your mounting system you can use this bracket.. the tongue of the mount goes into the clip. all you would need is a carrier with jbars.

hope that cleared it up

Thank you every one for the input. I was unaware that carriers came with all mounting equipment. I thought the mounts had to be purchased seperately. Im just goint to do what is most convient. Which seems to be buying the airframe carrrier.

Although that one does come with an attachment that works, most do not actually come with the bracket. Read the description of the harness you are buying to make sure it comes with the bracket you need. Keep in mind Randal May does not make their harnesses compatible with Pearl out of the box anymore so it is very slim that one of those will come with a bracket for Pearl snares. However, if you aren't worried about matching the harness to what your line uses, the airframes are some of the best harnesses on the market right now and I highly recommend them.

Edit A lot of the Lonestar percussion harnesses DO come with brackets. Both the Mapex and Pearl adapters will work with your drum. Anything from XL will probably work too. But if you go to another site to buy a harness, if there is a massive price difference, the harness probably doesn't include the bracket.

It's half of a Pearl FFSA snare attachment -- the older version. You might as well pull it off and toss it in your parts drawer because it probably won't be easy or cost-effective to hunt down half of a mounting bracket.

Excluding cheap "ultralight" designs, most carriers for free-floating snare drums do come with the drum attachment. Yamaha carriers by Randall May do. Pearl carriers by May did. Pearl's own recent carriers do. XL Specialty (now Gator) carriers normally do. Mapex carriers do.
