Our grade 3 pipe band just ordered new pearl drums, and I would love to play on a snare carrier other than the harnesses we have now, looking for randall may snare carrier, however will accept others like it. Thanks in advance, Joe

I'm a big fan on the Pearl CX airframes right now. I always tell people to stay away from Randal May actually.

I'm not crazy about the hinged ones, but otherwise I'm a fan of Randall May's tube harnesses. Pretty sturdy and VERY adjustable.

What's the price range you're aiming for? I understand "as little as possible", but do you have a number in mind?

Ha, that's exactly why I am not a fan of Randal May. The normal tube harnesses aren't bad though. I just tried out the airframes and found them better.

If you are looking for used though I don't think you are going to find the airframes as they are pretty new.

Edit: After looking through the new Tama marching catalogue, those carriers look pretty sweet. They are suppose to be released at Pasic this year, or so I heard. The only issues I see with buying one of those is the locking mechanism looks like it is specialized for Tama drums so you may have to switch out the j-bars and you obviously won't get it used.

I would try ebay. once in a while, you'll get lucky and a RM tube carrier shows up for around $60.

Another option could be giving the guys at steve weiss a call. they are very good at helping a fellow drummer out.

best of luck, bro

If you're patient and persistent, it shouldn't be too hard to find a RM tube harness under $100. I scored mine, in new condition, for quite a bit less than that. If you have a hard time finding one, I might be willing to part with mine, but in the meantime, I'll try to help you keep an eye out.
