I've seen it a few times in pictures and videos, I haven't met anyone with this tattoo but I'm curious to what it means. It's obviously for bass drummers but that's about all I have figured out; does it mean you've marched world class? Did only one particular line have this and then just happen to play other places?

Generic bass drummer tattoo...It is also the symbol for ayB which was kind of a fictitious bass drummer fraternity that ended up being taken seriously. Look it up on Facebook.

As far as its meaning..it's pretty black and white...If you play bass drum, love it, and want to represent your love...Ink it.

Also, does anyone know what the logo near the bottom of the bass head is?

I'm pretty sure that logo is the Phantom Regiment chevrons. I saw their bassline this summer and they all seemed to have this tattoo. I could be wrong with the 'all' part. So, please don't take my word for it.

It's not their chevron. It may very well be their bass line tattoo, but their chevron looks like military stripes.

I think he means the little logo on the tattoo's bass drum head might be the corps' chevrons.

The logo near the bottom of the bass drum in the tattoo is what I'm referring to. Like I said, I could be wrong, but I think I remember seeing them with the tattoo WITH the chevron near the bottom of the bass head.

Just by shear guesswork, Looking into the background of the picture, it does look sort of maybe like Phantom's uniforms. Then again I didn't see phantom any the past 2 years so, its just a guess on my part.
