As many of you may or may not know you or your Indy line directors are all hard at work gettign ready for 2012.

I am currently reviewing all of our (Imperial Percussion Theater) membership documents as they need updating before each season. I am curious as to what other lines contracts contain and would like to know if any of you could send me a copy for a gander. I would be more than happy to send ours to you as a reference too. I am not looking to copy your contracts as we have ours in place I just want to see differences in attendance policies, etc.

Members: please consult with your director/staff before sending me a copy.

Directors: show me yours and I'll show you mine... I am curious to budgets and things like that too.

email them to me at JRobinson(at)imperialpercussion(dot)org

Thanks!!

I'm actually trying to get a couple of schools I'm teaching to start a line up so I'm a bit curious to this as well. I've always wanted to know what the world line budgets are like. I've seen what the contracts are like but would be interested in that as well. Unfortunately, I don't have much to give in return though.

If you want to share you can either message me here or at jwarrenªtadrian.edu

Thanks.

Last Year,

Genesis ran on a strict $25,000 dollar budget. Most world groups run between $40,000 and $50,000, depending on all kinds things like staff pay where they are from in the country, endorsement deals and that kind of stuff. The IRS has some strict rules about how you file taxes if you go over and receive more than $25,000 annually for more than 3 years running. You must able to prove every dollar that you have received and spent if asked. So keep all of your records straight.

As far as contracts go, Our contract lays out specifically what their dues will cover and what it will not cover and what the dues will be for the season It also has the payment schedule and the penalties for late payments and the consequences for that. The contract also explains what they can expect from us as well as what we expect from them and the consequences of each. Along with the contract each member is given a copy of the handbook and operating manual since they are technically members. They are technically entitled to see how the organization is run. We have a catchall phrase at the end of the contract that says the by signing the agreement they have read, understand, and agree to the terms of the contract and the member handbook and operation manual.

If you want to take a look at that operation manual, email me at gsperlbaumªtgmail.com

BigLove, I just emailed Weber State Indoor Percussion's contract to you. Hope it is helpful. I'm also looking to redo my member documents. If anyone if willing to share, I'd love to see what the rest of you are requiring of your members. If you would like to see our info, email me at drummer343ªtmsn.com.
