Hey guys,
I just picked up a pair of Field Corps tenors (quads) from the mid to late 90's. I am in need of shells coverings, lugs, tension bolts, carriers/stands. Anyone have any good ideas on places? The system is the older "dyno"(?) system where the drums are mounted on a omega shape bar and has a place for J-hooks on it for the carrier.
If you guys have any help or direction I can go to get some parts it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Lugs and tension rods are easy to get. You can order them from any Yamaha dealer like Steve Weiss Music or Lone Star Percussion. I'd guess you're looking at around eight bucks per lug and a buck per tension rod.

Any Randall May (Pearl/Yamaha) j-hook based carrier should work, and older t-bar versions show up reasonably cheap on eBay pretty frequently. Even the aluminum tube carriers can be found at reasonable prices now and then. And if you're really patient, you can occasionally find blowout clearance deals on carriers when models get changed out for newer versions.

For stands, you've got plenty of options since your drums accept j-bars. Unfortunately, there aren't many cheap options. You can get stand tops from 2Cool Percussion for $66 each and pair them with tripod bases from cymbal stands.

As for wraps... I'm not sure you want to go there. Not only is it a very labor intensive process, but wrap material isn't cheap and you'll often find that a number of your lugs' screw holes are bent and the lugs can't be reused. But if you're so inclined, you can buy wrap and the appropriate contact cement from sources like Drum Foundry, drummaker.com, or Precision Drum Shop.

Im kind of struggleing myself with carriers and stands, but i have 2 websites i would check out for wraps and hardware.

http://www.precisiondrum.com/
http://www.drummaker.com/

I have bought from drummaker, and...well...i got heads, lugs, tension rods, a couple drum keys....so on. And everything was perfect, so scam or anything. As for Preciciondrum, i have never personally bought from them, but i have heard from a few people who said they were the same as drummaker.

In my opinion, wrap is reasonably priced. As for putting it on the drums, i havent done it, but from what i have read, its not a huge deal. But That doesnt mean Im right, and Im not trying to argue with SkyDog, thats just my understanding.

Putting it on isn't the hard part. Getting the old stuff off can be a massive pain in the rear end, depending on what kind of drums we're talking about. Pearls are easy. The original wrap is taped on. Yamahas, in my experience, are not easy. Whatever kind of glue they use is TOUGH. Plan on using a heat gun, stiff putty knife, and lots of elbow grease to remove the original wrap. Be careful to keep the heat gun from igniting the drum. And I already mentioned the lugs.
