I'm entering Purdue as a freshman, and am planning to be on drumline. While the drumline does not high step, the band in general does, which might include myself if I enter a section other than drumline (i.e. Big Ten Flags). As a student coming out of a corps style band that only roll steps, I have never been taught to high step. So... anyone have any pointers on how to high step?

Yes, wait till you get to camp and have them teach you. Every Big 10 school that does a high step does it differently and I'm confidant that they will teach you their way the first week of camp.

Agreed. I never attended a big ten school but have talked with some of the different schools staffs and students and each has a different way of doing it. It is different best to wait so you do not learn it a different, "wrong" way.
