I assume this is something Glassmen fabricated for themselves and not a purchase from Dynasty. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Glassmen Bass Rim Guards

This should get you started, all I done was type Bass drum rim protector in my search provider and it gave me these links. Why dont you email the Glassmen and ask them about theirs cause in my search for you I did not see one like the one in your picture, but the more you try to find it the more of a chance you will find that one that they use.

Remember; Type in the search space in Yahoo or Google or Bing, Bass drumm rim protector. Ya never know that might work.

I haven't personally seen one like the Glassmen were using. It's not one of the currently marketed designs I'm familiar with.

I'm almost positive it's a custom fab job. Matrix used them (because of the obvious connection) and basically it's a small curved piece of metal with two square-head screws in the rim. It wouldn't be all that difficult to do yourself, but I suggest switching out the screw in the rim design for a clamp to prevent splitting when you drill in the rim.

Innovative Percussion Builds bass rim and the mallet holders in one package. They basically place 2 slabs of metal on each side of it

I wasn't aware IP sold any rim guards or mallet holders at all. I haven't seen them on their site or in person. Got a link?

Pearl and XL Specialty (now Gator) make combo rim guards and holders, though:

ya it must be custom because I have not seen one like that.
