You should really make all of the equipment ones multiple choice. I use V.F. and Innovative and even Promark for drumset. Do the same for your instruments played. I do pit, tenor and snare.

1) Have done all three. Currently not performing in any of the three, though.

2) Out of school, unless you count working in a school.

3) Instructor.

4) Can't choose only one. I've done them all except cymbals. But if you pressed the issue, I'd call myself a tenor player.

5) Traditional

6) I use a bunch of different implements from different makers. I'll use what's good, regardless of the name printed on it. My current battery implements are mostly Vic Firth. Keyboard mallets by IP, Vic Firth, and Pro-Mark. My drum set sticks and brushes are Regal Tip. My concert sticks are Malletech.

7) Like implements, I'm not locked into one head manufacturer. Between battery, concert, and drum set stuff, I'm using heads by Evans, Remo, Aquarian, and Ludwig (but secretly lust after Premier Marathon snare heads).

8) One school I teach uses Dynasty battery drums and the other uses Yamaha. My personal tenors and marching snare are Pearl. My drum sets are Slingerland and Tama.

9) Not enough time spent practicing. Too busy parenting and running my lines.

10) On DLO for 6 years.

Thanks to those who have answered so far.

Sorry for the mistakes that are in this poll, but at 6 am it sounded like a great idea, just not in traffic or on your phone.

Yes 'B' I wanted too but this being the first I have created, I was just wanting a solid one or the other answer. I'll try a different one next time.

I also use everyone on the market, but I do prefer certain brands. And I here what you are saying on the parenting thing. I collect most any thing that comes out thats cool, mostly I collect snare drums, from everybody!

Thanks Skydog for your, better than I thought any one would take the time for a 20 questionairre answer!

Ha, hey Skydog can I join yours and SCV75's Little Slingerland club? I have two 1976 TDR 15"x12" snare drums...

1) I enjoy watching all of them, but only competed in BOA.

2) I am out of school

3) Part time instructor

4) See my name

5) Traditional for Marching Snare and some styles on drumset, Match for everything else.

6) I'm torn between Innovative and Vic Firth. Vic for drumset, Innovative for everything else.

7) So when I was young and started drumming, it was 100% Remo. I couldn't even name another manufacturer at that time. Then we found Tendura heads (I'd love to hear more about them, but that's another thread). Once I was out of high school and went on to teaching, we started using Evans heads as we wanted to test the internal muffling with the bass drums for a year. Although the internal muffling system was lackluster, they still won me over. I only use Evans now.

8) Not sure what I'm choosing here. If I could only have one for the rest of time, I would be hard pressed to decide between Yamaha and Pearl. They always seem to be at the top of the game and I don't think you can go wrong between the two of them.

9) I used to play around 8 hours a day. Now I'm lucky to even look at a drumpad between changing diapers and chasing a 1 year old.

10) Been part of DLO for a few years now I believe.

I didn't know there was a club, but sure, you're in. Just bring cold beverages. smile

I've got a 15" Slingerland marching snare, too, but mine's a little bit older. It's a Slingerland Standard King from 1953 or '54.
