Hey guys, I know I haven't been very active recently but I have some great news.

After three years of high school drumline, I've finally achieved my goal of marching Troopers on quads. I'm working very hard to keep up with the vets, but that's not all I have to work hard for.

I need sponsorships. My family is going through a difficult financial time with two kids in college and both my brother and I marching Troopers this year. Any bit of money that can be donated for my cause is greatly appreciated.

Here's my help me march link:

http://www.helpmemarch.org/AdamPowell

Thank you for your time spent reading this, and I'd like to add: thank you drumlines.org for helping me get here. The tips I've learned from this forum have played a part in this, and the fantastic users on here have always been cool to me even when I've been naive in the past.

Thanks again,
Adam.

P.S. Troopers uses two spocks, funny how that correlates to my username huh? smile

You can change your name in your profile since now you will be using two spocks.

That`s great you made the line and with the Troopers who are well established and making a come back in DCI. Madison and Blue Stars have recently made comebacks to the top 12 and you can really enjoy being in a position to advance your playing.

A summer with a DCI line should improve your playing 100%. It will be everyday and all day long and you can even practice on your free time if you want.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting a ton better. Troopers is really a fantastic organization that I fully intend on staying with for all 6 of my years.

I marched in the Troopers when Jim Jones was director. WOW! what a great experience it was. Our drum line tied SCV for high Execution when they had that category in 1973. In both Prelims and Finals!

You marched 73'? Wow, that was a fantastic corps. Still very well remembered by Troopers today.

By the way guys, I'll be the brown guy on the end of the quad line.

Yes and they were good. The brass instructor was Jack Meehan and that Hornline was very good. I remember going to Jones house and watching videos of shows, he used to video tape the shows back then I wish I could see the 1973 show again they were clean and we were the only drum corps to beat SCV that year and ended up 2nd at DCI.
