Which of these of these sticks are the best,(In your opinion), practice sticks?

Vic Firth Corpmaster MS6 Chop Outs, Pro-Mark XB3 Rubber Tip Sco Jo's, or Pro-Mark TXXB1/TXXB2 Matt Savage Practice Sticks. If you know about any other practice sticks that you think are good/better please do tell

IMO id say Hardimon ''Hammer''s are better. The heavier the better. Im not to fond of those other sticks

I own Hardimons. Haha but for heavier, I go for VF Magnums. But our show calls for rubber tip sticks. Do know of any other good rubber tip sticks?

Last year I went to Home Depot and got some rubber tubbing and cut them down to fit the head of the sticks my line used, they worked fine. Now they are not like Johnsons or Ralphs rubber tip sticks by no means but if you have a favorite pair of heavy sticks the rubber tubbing will work. Plus you buy it by the foot and one foot will make a lot of tips.

There are different kinds of rubber tube, some with more bounce than others, just check around hardware supply stores or even a medical supply store.

But if you are dead set on having a company brand Johnsons are nice, but mine are the Vic models. They are not that heavy but I don't get in trouble for chopping on my coffee table any more.

I think the Hardimon Chop Out might be another choice they are heavy with the stay pac wood like the VF MS4`s. A very good chop building stick.

Oh yeah I'm with ya on that, I just wish VF didn't like them as much.($) But if you are on a tight budget and you have a pair of good chop sticks heck rubber tubbing works great.

Oh and thanks for the advice on the V3, I'm loving it!! Best money spent this year!

I just have to say I hype Innovative Practice Tips. You get three sizes, they fit well, and they are easy to sport around. You can make a trip to Home Depot or places like that and make your own, but I got these once and am sold. Make any stick into a practice stick, and they fit reasonably well.

During the season, why practice with anything other than the model that you will be performing with? THAT is the most basic rule for proper practice technique. Using heavier models, lighter models, rubber tipped, LED WiFi sticks, are habits, or tendencies rather, than actually regress your performance rather that progress it.

Where do you get your information? Check out some of the posts on this board and I think a few snares have improved their chops using a heavier practice stick to build some muscle and they find playing with the regular sticks much easier. I use the VF MS4 magnums and then go to a pair of Hardimons and I`m flying fast. I also have some sticks made of Rosewood and they are around 90 grams and work great for building speed. Try it out and see if it works for you!
