Does anyone have any experience with these heads? I'm curious about its durability and sound in general. Whatever opinions are out there will be appreciated.

You're asking for drumset, right? I have one on one of my snares right now. The head is probably the most durable head out there for drumset. I probably wouldn't buy it again just because it doesn't have the best sound characteristics in my opinion. The only reason I would buy it is if you like to crank your snare ridiculously high as it just doesn't choke ever.

Ok since we're talking ridiculous and I will take the gig for this, I have a 1964 bronze 6 in x14 Black Beauty and I put a k- flam on the girl and wana talk about shotgun! The 2 years I worked at a recording studio here In B- ham it was the most requested snare drum out of 15 snares in stock. Oh so sensitive and no need for mic's.

Go ridiculous, if it sounds good use it!

The coated hybrid has no KevlarŪ in it (I believe it's all armand fiber?). But it is not a marching head and doesn't sound like one either.

Aramid fiber. KevlarŪ is one type of aramid fiber. Technora, the fiber used in Remo's White Max and Black Max heads, is another type of aramid fiber. Evans Hybrid heads, both the marching and drum set versions, are made out of some type of aramid fibers, but I don't know specifically which ones.

Personally, I'm not putting an aramid fiber head on a drum set snare. Mylar can comfortably handle all the tension I want on those drums. For anyone who does put a fiber head on a non-marching drum (or an older marching drum), resist the urge to crank it unless you want to destroy your drum!

I was actually wondering if you had cymbals on the mind. (I like those Armands.)

I believe they use the polyester of the original MX head and reinforce it with Aramid fiber, not sure there are no specs anywhere. On a set snare I wouldn't use it on a drum with anything less than a 10 ply shell so that the shell will resist the tendency to flex or distort under tension.
