Very basic questions it seems, but grids are a concept I have a hard time understanding.

What exactly is a grid, and how do you grid something?
They seem to be made endlessly, and while I can play them, I don't think I'm understanding exactly what they're supposed to do doing for me. Can anyone explain to me from the beginning the idea behind gridding?

The idea is to move the accents and change the pattern of the rudiment. By moving the accents, you build control and mastery over the rudiment. That's the idea, to make changes to the rudiment, play them back to back, and control everything in between. That's at least how I choose to explain it, hope that makes sense man.

I explain the grid as a way to try every combination and permutation of the rudiment. By doing so, it forces you to work the right hand and left hand variations equally.

Hello, I can explain how grids work, how to use them, and why. Also, people over use them too. Email your number and I will call, Tom Float.
