Hello, My school presently owns a set of old & rather beat-up Yamaha keyboards. My band director recently informed me we would likely be buying new front ensemble equipment for next year, and that he was leaning toward a set of Majestic keyboards. I had never heard of them until he told me this, and have not been able to find any opinions or reviews online about them. I was wondering if anyone here has ever played on these, and how they match up to other brands, i.e. in terms of sound, durability, projection, etc.
It looks to me like they are made by the same company that makes mapex drums and jupiter wind instruments. They usually have really good equipment, so you can bank on that. Although, i couldn't tell you how they sound. Youtube doesnt always give the best quality recording

Majestic is a percussion manufacturer based in the Netherlands. Their products are distributed in the U.S. by KHS, the Taiwanese company that manufactures Mapex drums and Jupiter wind instruments.
It's similar to the arrangement between Adams (like Majestic, a Dutch percussion company) and Pearl.
I haven't personally used any Majestic keyboards, so I can't give you a first-hand opinion. Academy, Jersey Surf, and Teal Sound have been using them, along with Arizona State University and presumably other Mapex/Jupiter-sponsored organizations.
We use them at Genesis and so far have been very happy with their sound. They have a very warm sound to them. They are still virtually brand new so I can't comment on their durability but I can tell you that we don't expect any problems but if we did the customer service so far has been really excellent.

I'm currently in the possession of a Majestic marimba, and I must say it sounds great. It has a very warm lush sound that's great for playing marimba solos, but not entirely sure how good it will sound in an outdoor scenario. I couldn't really tell you how durable it is, since it's still new. It projects fairly well. Just some of my opinions. Hope it helps!
i haven't personally played one, but i have seen several lines use them, and imo there doesn't seem to be issues with projections. seems like a good line of keyboard instrument imo.
