I guess it depends on what your definition of famous is but I know a ton of tenor players doing great things on the drumline scene.

Seriously, though, there are plenty of old tenor players out there who've contributed quite a bit to the activity. To name just a few off the top of my head: Murray Gusseck, Colin McNutt, J.J. Pipitone, Sean Vega, Bill Bachman, Leif Marwede...
