If it counts, I've been taught by Lance Kindl of Blast! He's about the only one I'd TRULY consider meeting. I spoke with Scott Johnson at a clinic a couple years ago, but that wasn't anything too big. I guess that's about it.

It's the truth about the marching thing. You end up meeting a lot of people and don't even realize it. I can't really list the people since I don't know who counts as famous and who doesn't, haha.

Here's my awesome picture.

We were trying to trade things for his iPhone. :]

Go to PASIC. You'll meet everyone you'll ever want to meet and learn something from every single person.

Steven Schick came to my school for a percussion festival along with a bunch of other european big names in percussion. I´ve been yelled at by Gert Mortensen during the same festival when they suddenly needed someone to fill the empty space behind the soundboard.
Also took a lesson and played at a masterclass with Mike Burritt. Talked to and played at masterclass with Katarzyna Mycka.

Not counting people I actually marched with, on the marching side I've met James Campbell, Nick Angelis, and Murray Gusseck all outside of DCI.

When I was in my first year at Boise State, we had a clinic day that included both Murray Gusseck and Todd Sucherman of Styx. A few of us from the band were doing set up/tear down stuff, and we were all eating lunch between clinics. We'd ordered pizza and we were pillaging the band's leftover bottled water, pop, etc. from the previous season. I asked Todd if he wanted anything and his response was "I'll take whatever, as long as it's not diet". I, of course, said "Why's that?"

Sucherman then proceeded to give us a 45 minute lecture on the dangers of artificial sweeteners while we ate pepperoni pizza. One of the most surreal experiences of my life.
