It's baseball. You're standing around most of the time. How would you get burned out anyway? wink

Before anyone gets too defensive... I'm kidding! Baseball was my favorite sport. But you are just standing around most of the time, especially if you're not pitching.

Justin, you also mentioned no juice, just water. How about a juicer as a additional item, not substituting for water. We were looking at one of the Jack LaLane juicers that uses almost all of the fruit/vegetable giving you the fiber.

Don't bother with juicers. It takes way too much fruit to make even a glass. remember one normal sized orange contains around 60 calories. At around 3 or 4 per glass you're looking at 200 calories in one glass of juice.

Dr. Michael D. Ozner, MD, president of the American Heart Association of Miami, said on WebMD. "Fruit has more fiber, fewer calories, and more phytonutrients than juice." Even with the best juiver in the world you are still losing all the best parts from eating fruit.

Remember "a study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism even found that fructose, a sugar in fruit juice, may promote weight gain."(http://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/08/04...osing-views.htm)

I suggest doing a lot of research and not relying on the information we've given. Granted a lot of it is factual and good advice I always recommend speaking with your doctor

Why wouldnt you just eat the fruit, drink the water, enjoy some protein, and leave out processed carbs (wheat, etc..) Instead eat a handful of almonds and walnuts and be good to go.

Was that addressed to me? Eat the nuts instead of what - the processed carbs?

Do you have a preferred method of cooking your chicken and beef? I see the oils and their recommendations on heat values - does that mean you fry your proteins?

You need to look at the definition of FRY. When I hear FRY, I think deep-fat fry as in the use of Peanut oil or Vegetable oils, both oils with trans-fats, which are "bad" oils in that they lower good cholestorol and raise bad cholestorol. People are afraid of the word FAT and instead eat tons of low fat carb rich products. What to carbs turn into? Sugars, and what do sugars turn into when not burnt? FAT. Not to mention they lead to constantly elevated blood sugar....something that begins lipogenisis (the creation of fat) and a tolerance to insulin, which controls your blood sugars. What do you think this tolerance insulin causes. You guessed it, DIABETES! When I eat less processed carbs, I eat as much fat as I want. I cook my steak in a little bacon grease, and I eat bacon when I want. I put REAL butter in/on my foods and I dont worry about it. because my body is in Ketosis. It is USING fats primarily because the carbs burn quickly and provide little energy in comparison. Nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, postachios) carry dietary fiber, natural oils, carbohydrates (not complex), and amino acid profiles, and PROTEIN. Things the Bodies needs and uses. When eating lots of protein fiber is important, because YOU cant STORE EXTRA PROTEIN. When eating this way it is important to notice that you are trying to replace complex carbs in your diet with more protein. So instead of grabbing for a huge piece of garlic bread with my steak, which, no doubt would be delicious, I just grab 2-3 oz more steak and eat the skin on my baked sweet potato that I intend to eat with it. The main issue comes down to the fact that people dont eat anthroplogically and it leads to health problems.

And keep in mind, we have to heat our proteins to consume it. Until the inception of cooking by humans, we couldnt easily consume protein from meat because we expended too many calories trying to consume it that we ended up with no calories or negative calories consumed. Much like celery has negative calories.....

Excellent explanation. Thank you for the clarifications.
