In concert last year, i told one of the other percussionists to pack up the bass mallets so we didn't forget them. that will be the last time i tell this person to do that though becuase he didnt even take them out of the cabinate. We had to use timpani mallets for the whole clinic.

well, this is my first year marching and so far I've got two.
The first happened in band camp, the 3rd bass must have been hyper that day and he announced "DRUM RACE!!" and everybody else was too tired, but me and him started running with our bass's on (2nd and 3rd) and my bass drum bounced off of my shoulders, harness and all, and i didn't fall, but the drum went rolling between my legs and I jumped over it. everything was fine though, but no more drum races.
2nd was when we were marching down to the stadium to practice and i didn't see it, darn you bass drum, and i tripped over a john deer gator. yeah, i did a face plant into my bass drum, and to top it off the upperclassmen snares were standing right beside me, trying to warn me of it, but i wasn't paying attention.
