Our line uses evans heads.

Basses use: MX1

Snares use: MX's *I am not sure what kind of MX's though*

Tenor(s) use: Mx Frosted heads

I am the tenor player for the line and I would suggest MX frosted heads by Evans. They hold up nice and has a great qaulity sound (Tenors stand point of view)

-hope to help

In my drum-line we use Evans, they are okay for basses and tenors but I'm not liking the snare heads. I'm not sure if it's the tuning or the heads but they sound nasty.

Snares: Yamaha Sfz's with Black Max and Falam II on bottom.

Quads: Yamaha Field Corps with pinstripes all over (so great...)

Basses: Yamaha Field Corps with Powermaxes

I love all of these heads working together with our instructors awesome tuning. Such a great line sound (when we play good smile )

Snares : Cybermax batter heads and Fallams II snare side
Tenors : Remo Pinstripe clear
Basses : Evans MX1

I like all of the heads that we use but my Tenor line recently started using mallets instead of sticks for most of their halftime show and they do not understand the concept of not hitting the head as hard with the mallets as they do with the sticks. I have replaced more tenor heads in the past 4 weeks than I ever have in my life.

I would suggest for snares MX Hybrids. I agree wiht tenor_player on this one, the heads are amazing and give good, quality sound when tuned right.

My line's personal favorite combo's are:

Snare: Remo Whitemax's

Tenors: Remo Suede Emperor's

Bass: Evan's White Mx1's

I hope this helps in your selection for many years to come!

My school uses Remo drum heads. Whats kind of funny is that this year we had a Caribbean theme and our drum line shirts said "Finding Remo".
