Phantom has only won one championship, and only placed top three 7 times. This is a great achievement, but is it really so great for such a classic drum corps? They have always been known for being a great all around corps, but have never really turned heads, except for maybe '96 and '77-'79. Has their time of glory come? This year Phantom's show is musically beautiful, and from what I've heard, visually appealing. They have been turning heads right and left. Do you think that within the next few years we will see a Phantom reign? I certainly hope so, but what do you all think.

I saw Phantom tonight at DCI in Murfreesboro and i thought they should have deserved better than 4th place in the competition.
Their show kicked A** and it was awesome and i think the Regiment will reign in a few years after the Cavaliers lose their touch since they are #1 in all.

Phantom for your info has placed in the Top Three six times, and the Top Six twenty times. Their success goes back a long way, only missing Finals in '72 and '73. They are always a top contender, like BD, SCV, Cadets, or Cavies. All of these groups (except PR with only 1) have at least 5 titles to their name each, one double that . PR will have its day if it can stick to the regimen that its been following for the past(this) season.

And Yes, the Cavies will stop winning soon. BD is coming so close this year with a "normal" planning/design/music system that Saucedo needs to think long and hard about next year's music. Hopefully, the Cavies will return to the classical music roots that rocketed them into such a position that they hold today.

Noooooooo SEVEN times... '77,'78,'79,'89,'91,'93,'94 Muahahaha, but yeah, Phantom has always been a contender (In Godfather voice). And as for Cavies... what comes up must come down eh? (I love that saying...)

I'd really like to see Phantom do well in the upcoming years. I am personally partial to the Cavies, SCV, and Pahntom, so seeing any of those guys do good rocks. I'd like to see Regiment drive for the top, if only to "spice things up". Man...I need to go to Finals...

Maybe if Phantom stopped doing Classical Shows that put people to sleep, then they might win a championship......but that's just my opinion.

Aw man...that's cold. There's nothing wrong with a well-done classical show. Regiment can well-do (ha) a show.

Okay, I have nothing against Classical Shows, everytime I listen to one of Phantom's Shows it's really hard for me to pay attention after the first 4 minutes.

You guys need to remember that it doesn't have to take a bunch of championships to make a legendary corps, For example, Star of Indiana is considered a legend just by playing the stuff they played when they played it. Most corps today use there methods at practices or rehersals (i.e. marching exercises and the show in the parking lot) and the level of rudiments they play in a piece of music. I will agree with everyone on here, Phantom, eventhough they haven't won a championship, will probably be considered a legendary corps by the style of music they play.

Correction, Phantom has won one championship. But even if they hadn't, they would still be legendary. I agree with ya on that.

I've heard some recordings of their show from earlier this season. I must say, I'm extremely impressed at the sound and cleanliness coming from Phantom's line this year. And that was in June. I heard their bassline is totally rippin' and I hope they make top 5 in drums and overall.
