You have $500 in a used drum (which is probably too much already). Repairing it will cause you to invest quite a bit more in the drum and you will loose all the history. My suggestion is live with the flaw and glory in the history!!

as I promised, this is my 93 Cadet snare. gold on gold, lots of scares, but it still sounds great. until I actually got the drum I always thought it was gold plated hardware. but its not its powder coated.

It doesnt even look powder coated. It looks like gold plated indeed.

I always thought they were powder coated, but the gold flakes off a bit. what I think is pretty cool is parts of the strainer and clip were gold too. its banged up but it has history only 8 of these out there and thats all there will ever be
