DCI Fan Network: Carolina Crown

I caught this link from the Crown Facebook page, it's definitely a different direction from the last few years. And green bass heads? At first it was a bit of shock, but it's growing on me... and makes me wonder if they are going to change their uniform at all.

Drums are looking and sounding decent, by the way. Hopefully I wasn't fooled by the video quality.

And no, the video isn't playing tricks at all. They were sounding really good back in the winter. It's just going to get better and be awesome come tour.

I wish I could hear the pit parts a bit more, I'm not sure if they had the mics in or not. I don't know if they stuck out just because I remember them or if they actually were mic'd. The middle section gets a little bit hard to hear, once the hornline entered. I didn't see any speakers out there, so maybe. But they're playing some freakin' notes, no doubt.

And as always, I love their hornline.

I dont want to sound overly negative, But just dont get too hyped about an early recording.. everyone sounds good all winter. Until they get outside. (yes i know this was outside, It was just a comment about all drum corps.)

I saw them practicing today and they had changed the bass heads to the standard white ones. Remo somethings...

ambassadors... top 3 single ply, bottom 2 double ply... at least that was last years.

The bass drums may be white now, but wow now the snares are green! Maybe even the tenors too?

All of the drums are green. They were referring to the heads, not the shells.

I just want to say that I've always loved that snare tuning, all the way back to Madison 1992.
