I dont see an error, however i would like to change my corps name. How should i go about doing that?

Percussion caption issue. Spirit is 13 while Madison is 14 yet Spirit holds a 17.15 to a 16.95 for Madison.

Madison's score is from Finals; Spirit only made it as far as Semis. Picture this: Corps Alpha and Corps Bravo... each score a 96 and 95 at Semis, respectively. Corps Alpha moves on to Finals while Corps Bravo does not. Corps Alpha scores a 94 at Finals. Would this mean Corps Bravo's final ranking should be better than Corps Alpha's? Negative.

I forgot what it said exactly.
I did all the registration stuff. Then when I went to log in to mine, it said something about it being closed and to try again next season.
I'll just wait for this next one.

Perhaps you signed up during a testing period and then didn't register when registration was actually open?

Show in Champaign since Sparkle! is based there. Cooter lost their bid to Intercourse.

I'd like to announce that immediately following the show in Intercourse, we'll all be headed to nearby Paradise for the afterparty.

I have opened the testing period. Test registration is open to all members. Everyone that registers during this test period will be registered as a Division 1 fantasy corps. If you wish, you may register a fantasy corps and test out the scheduling and caption picking processes and let me know if you run into any problems or have any questions or comments.

Keep in mind this is a TEST registration. Once the test period has ended, I will make an announcement and will DELETE all registrations -- meaning you will have to register again once the official registration has opened.

You may register a fantasy corps for this testing period here.

I've noticed some errors with scheduling that I will be looking into. Thanks for testing, all that have so far!

Intercourse is only fun for just so long, then you have to take the party elsewhere.

I can has a home show?

It's on the schedule on June 29th, but it links to the rockford show on June 19th

Do shows get full? Like is there a max number of corps that can sign up for a show? The reason I'm asking is that I was playing around with my schedule and noticed that the show in Dildo is no longer listed so that I can sign up for it.

Yes; once 6 fantasy corps from the same division register for a show, that show is full for that division. This helps to balance out the competition at shows.

Where can i sign up for a home show?

If you look on your corps home page there should be a box to the right of your schedule and under your captions.

You have the message "You must register for a show in your home state." in your home show box because you can only pick a home show from the state in which your fantasy corps exists. You only have two Florida shows in your schedule, and they're both already some other fantasy corps' home show.

I see. I guess I'll just have to dominate the Paradox, CO show then lol

Why was it decided that division one (and two) would get more points than the lower divisions to apply towards captions?

Just another incentive to strive towards Division 1...

When is the testing period over and official registration start?

Things have slowed down just a little bit since I started packing this week. I will be getting everything in my new dwelling tomorrow, so I'll have to battle with unpacking stealing time from code checking and database diving, probably which will be getting done in the late night hours. There don't seem to be any problems out there, however -- at least none that have been brought to my attention.

Having said that, the official registration will be starting very very soon -- no longer than a week.

It's not really a problem, but I'm a little dissapointed Gold Regiment went down a division

Dumb you say? Well I think it makes sense. it allows those corps that do well to move up a division and encourages everyone involved to try hard to do well and not just ghost their way through it.

How is it dumb? Just because it hurt you? They explained it fairly well, so why don't you tell us exactly why you think it's dumb? Otherwise we've just got to assume you don't like it because you got stung.

It's dumb because you punish the loser(s).

Well maybe you should start being a winner! winners don't complain about the rules they deal with them and adapt their strategy to win!

Like I said already it's not stupid because it promotes competitiveness groups will try harder to do well. Instead of being bitter and calling it "dumb" (A well thought out response to the rule by the way really) Maybe you should have read the handbook so you would have known that could happen if your FDC did bad.

How am I supposed to win when I was put into divison two on my corps' first year against one or two year vets. I did read the handbook, but that was one year ago.

Effort and time. there's not actual skill involved here, being a vet or not has no bearing on how well you place. Its about guessing, then adapting those guesses.

The rule promotes the directors who should be promoted. and demotes those who cannot (or who choose not to) put out a competitive number.

It ensures that it does not become stagnant, and that the best directors populate the highest divisions.

Well, on that note. Anyone know when we can set our schedules? As in, when is registration ending?

I have extended the date which returning directors may register their FDC and keep their seeding to 29 May.

Registration is over and everyone may now setup their schedules. Everyone has until 12 June to do this. If a fantasy corps has not setup their schedule by 12 June they will be folded for the season. This will make more work for me, since I will have to move fantasy corps around in the division, and I won't be too happy about it... so let's everyone setup those schedules!

Forums are now setup for fantasy corps directors to post information about their fantasy corps. As always, each fantasy corps gets one topic and the subject title must be the full fantasy corps' name (minus the Drum and Bugle Corps) as it appears on their page here at Drumlines.org.

I'm thinking some sort of bannings -- whether from just DLOFDC or DLO, we'll see -- for no-show directors next season.

It took a couple hours of my Saturday, but I have deleted 47 Fantasy Corps whose directors did not follow through with their obligations of setting up their schedule and picking captions. We now have 3 divisions instead of 5; I have bumped everyone up to fill the vacated spots.

Some shows have a good amount of fantasy corps in them because of this, but I really don't feel like spending any more time on changing things so they'll stay how they are.

There were really 47 people who didn't pick shows and captions? That's crazy.

If you don't mind me asking, did the schedule have to be full with shows, or did any lack of shows fold the corps? (I'm just curious I wasn't one of them banned from DLOFDC).

That's shocking. It's not that hard to pick shows. It's not even hard to find 5 minutes on the computer.
