Hey guys which drum pad can simulate the feel of the high tension kevlar head the best? So far I'm kind of leading towards the vic firth heavy hitter slim pads. But on Scott Johnson's forum, Scott mentioned that the pad he will design (or already have designed?) will be pretty accurate too.

So guys, do you have any suggestions on which pad to buy?

That the slimpad is the most accurate? Thanks man.

Personally, I don't think the Slimpad feels all that accurate (unless your drum feels like playing on wood). I prefer my old RealFeel.

Hasn't this been discussed somewhere around seven times I believe. Lol. I think the slimpad with the laminate is pretty good.

I've had my original RealFeel for nearly two decades now. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I like my Slimpad a lot. I had the laminate off the other day and it accidentaly got attatched to a piece of paper. It didn't come off cleanly, so I cut the laminate into smaller, 3" diameter circles. I put one in the middle of the pad to help with playing in the center. It helps a lot and I've noticed a difference when playing on a real drum as far as note consistency and quality
