It's really sad that we even have to deal with something like racism or sexism on our drumlines. When we play on a drumline, we are playing as ONE drumline, not just a bunch of separate drummers, so what should it matter what we look like or who we are, since, when it comes down to it, we all need each other. Luckily for me, on my drumline rascism isn't really an issue, but sexism seems to be. I get narked on a lot for being a girl. At one point, I was told I wasn't allowed to "dup" anymore because my voice mixed in with all the other guys' voices made us sound wimpy.
