at your school, what seem to be the pit instruments that everyone inside (and out) of the pit have respect for or would want to play?
the two big ones are timpani and chimes.
chimes seem to cut through the entire band, and timpani is a lot of fun to play.

Nothing rocks more than hitting a gong and bass at the same time.

Personally, I think the old school marching timps deserve more respect than any other instrument.
