If your looking for a "drum" go for Timpani, but if your going for a mallet instrument go for Vibes

While the Concert Bass Drum/Gong combo is pretty beast, I'd say Timpani is probably the "manliest" instrument of the pit.

When I marched in Gray Ghost, Our pit had a set of 5 Break drums and 2 Ball-ping hammers.
