I'm wondering if I never really caught that it was on the same drums as the first measure because I've always assumed it mirrored over. you have a right to be confused...that part is extremely wierd. I have the revised version of the book and it is still confusing. I would guess that you play what makes sense and to me that would be be be this sticking

beat 1 --(l) RR R

beat 2 --(2) (r)L (l)RL

the rest -- RLRLR(r)LL

I dont know if that is right but it makes sense. The part itself is extremely unclear about sticking for that particular phrase. There are other ways it could be done of course, but unless you are trying out for devils, I would use the way I suggested for no other reason than it makes sense. I would also suggest finding a video of it on the net somewhere and see if you can figure it out from there. I will break out mine later and see if I can help you out on that part.
