Today holds hard news for all SS fans.
First of all, it has just been released that one of the Drum majors for the 2006 season, Frederic Snivel, was shot during a crack deal. This happened during a free day yesterday in Indianapolis. "We were all doing our laundry and he sorta snuck off into an alley... that was the last we saw of him," says SS member Billy-Bob Knowhow.
The corps has taken this very hard, but expects Frederic to be back in a couple weeks. "The show tonight is for Freddy," said Knowhow, referring to the Indy regional.
Also, corps director Paul has just released the information that the amps/soundboard truck lost control and drove off a bridge crossing the Mississippi last week. While the drivers were saved, all the corps electronic equipment was lost.
While the Indy show will be done without amplification, there is good news ahead. YEA!, together with renowned D&BC The Cadets, have agreed to donate to the corps so many amps, mics, speaker sets, and other paraphanelia that Paul was discussing the possibility of hiring 36 more sound technicians to help set up and move the equipment. "They were very generous," said Paul. "They even offered several props to our cause, but we just didn't have room in our trucks!"

All the recent tension may explain some of the corps recent inability to generate decent scores. Well, that's all for tonight- good night from Symphonic Star.
