We are pleased to announce a new DLOFDC corps, the Rochester Lightning, based out of Rochester, NY. The Lightning is in its first season in the DLOFDC, and is pleased to introduce its pilot show. The 2006 show pays tribute to one of the greatest progressive metal bands out there, Dream Theater. The show is based on DT's popular concept album, "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence". The show's score was arranged entirely by the staff. The concept of "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" is centered around various states of mind. The corps conveys these motifs with stunning visuals and high-energy brass and percussion arrangements, not to mention some odd-time signatures in the mix! Then again, with Dream Theater, what else is new? There are, of course, 6 movements to this show. We have changed the names from the actual album tracks to protect copyright laws. They are as follows: I. Anticipation II. Elation III. Confusion IV. Chaos V. Serenity VI. Euphoria Get ready for the drum corps show of a lifetime!

LIGHTNING NEWSTop Story: Bass Guitars in Drum Corps? Wait...Marching Bass Guitars in Drum Corps?? You Betcha! The date: June 5, 2006 While working on tweaking the scores for this season's show, assistant director Alex Schwarz had a thought that the show needed something more...something along the lines of instrumentation, but outside the box. Director David Katilius agreed, and the two began brainstorming. About 5 minutes later, they both agreed on something: "Bass guitar!" The two thought that this would add a lot to the show, not only in terms of low-end tonal range with the baritones and contras, but as an eye-catcher as well! Katilius immediately cam up with another idea: " Marching bass guitar!" The two, having achieved a state of nirvana from this decision, began making calls. Unfortunately, no one ever quite panned out. Suddenly, Katilius realized he had forgotten someone, a long-time friend of his who was a successful teen virtuoso bassist, Kyle Morgan. Katilius called Morgan, who immediately stepped up! "I was so thrilled to get the call!" explained Morgan. "It was a great honor to me to have the opportunity to work with my good friend David [Katilius], one of the greatest musicians and possibly the coolest person I've ever had the chance to know and work with! It also gives me the opportunity to march in a drum corps with a unique instrument. "Interestingly enough, I had done a Dream Theater show about 2 years ago in my high school band. It was based off the song 'Metropolis Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper,' so it was awesome to hear that the Rochester Lightning was doing a Dream Theater show, being that they are my favorite band as well. Then again, with David, being the absolute godly Dream Theater worshipper that he is, what else is new!" "I couldn't believe I forgot Kyle [Morgan] the first time around!" Katilius said. "I mean, the guy is an absolute prodigy at bass! He can play any style of music perfectly. Not to mention he is the next John Myung [Dream Theater bassist]; he can play any DT song you give him...note for note! The guy is truly amazing, and he's gonna be a true asset to our corps!" Katilius, Morgan, and Schwarz are currently working on getting endorsements for Kyle's equipment. They should be listed in the next week or so. Let's all give a warm welcome to our newest member, Kyle Morgan! We wish him the best of luck with the Rochester Lightning! Rochester Lightning Moves Up In Division Placement! The Lightning has been moved up to Division 5 of the DLOFDC! We are extremely proud of this, and we wish all corps (moved or not) the best of luck this season! Well, that wraps up this edition! Stay tuned! *Just so you know, these new updates are also available on our website.

What in the hell are you talking about boy?
I suspect it was just an error in wording, not necessarily on purpose.
Or as one would call it, a "cerebral flatulence."
