The Wallingford Regiment is in its first year in the DLOFDC and is proud to announce its 2006 competition show, "In Motion". This show features all original music written by the staff.

Mvt. 1: Energy
Mvt. 2: Action and Reaction
Mvt. 3: Movement
Mvt. 4: Kinetic

The first movement is pretty self explanatory (energetic).
The second movement is divided into two parts.
The "action" has a groove at a fairly slow tempo. The "reaction" is the percussion feature and is faster and stronger than the first section. The front ensemble also uses a lot of random junk like trash cans and hubcaps in this feature.
The third movement is the ballad. As far as percussion is concerned, it is mostly front ensemble.
The closer represents the concept of kinetic energy with a fast tempo and complex drill and parts.

Wow, you wrote those? That's cool! Did you use VDL?

Yeah, I'm actually writing the full score for the Lightning's show too! Keep it up!

Thanks. I used VDL2 for the percussion parts. Unfortunately, I could only upload about 40 seconds out of each movement (except for the 2nd, which has two parts). I do have full recordings of each movement, though.

Last night's show was another success. The Wallingford Regiment placed third with a score of 69.35, 0.1 from second and 0.8 from first.

In other news: The corps' first two scores have been corrected to a 67.8 and 68.45 placing them in fifth in Toledo and third in Lisle. Though everyone is disappointed at losing two silver medals, they are more determined than ever to do well.

News: Drum Major Podium Breaks!
During a run of the Wallingford Regiment's show in practice today, one of the legs on the drum major's podium gave out. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident, but the corps was quite exhausted. While trying to keep her balance, the drum major flapped her arms in a faster, circular motion. This caused the corps to speed up to an unimaginable tempo.

"I'm just surprised that everyone stayed in time!" says the W.R.'s center drum major.

The corps will be investing in a new titanium plated podium before their performance in Birmingham, tonight.

This Just In from Symphonic Star's food truck: Symphonic Star will be providing the Regiment with BigMacs for the corps' snack after Wild Nights on the River, SS's home show, as a congratulatory gesture to their Lexingtonian friends.

News From Madison:
The Wallingford Regiment takes 7th place at World Championships with a score of 89.025. The corps came into finals with a strong score of 89.875, putting them in fifth place. Unfortunately, their Visual Performance score dropped almost two points which ruled out their placement in the top five. "It's something that we can work on," says corps director, LafayetteSnare. "We'll be ready for that next year. Other than that, I think we've had a great season and I am in no way disappointed with the results."

Wallingford Regiment would also like to congratulate all five world champions on their accomplishment.
