The registration period for returning fantasy corps from last year has ended. This means any returning fantasy corps registering between now and the end of registration will fill in "at the back of the line" starting in Division 7.

All fantasy corps that have registered prior to now have been assigned to a division. This means that all new fantasy corps may now set up their schedule. If you have been assigned to Division 3, you have more points to use on your captions now, so take advantage!

Some returning fantasy corps have been moved up a division due to non-returners. If you are a returning fantasy corps and have been moved up a division, you will have to set up your schedule again. Some of you may even have more points to spend on your captions, so do take advantage of that!

I want to note that some returning fantasy corps from last year have yet to pick captions. If you do not pick captions by the deadline, your fantasy corps WILL be removed from the season. Also please remember that you must set up a schedule of at least 20 shows. So if you have either yet to set one up, or if you have been bumped up a division, you must set up a schedule by the deadline or your fantasy corps WILL be removed from the season. The 6th of June is your last day to do this!

Why aren't all of the listed shows options on a given day when setting up your schedule? Does that mean it's full?

OK thanks. And can non-veteran corps have home shows? I couldn't find how to do that.

Since it is Division 4's week to pick a home show and we have placed you into Division 3, you will not be able to pick a home show from your fantasy corps' webpage, however...

If any non-veteran fantasy corps are in Division 3 and wish to have a home show please PM me with the following information:
Date
Location
Desired Name of Show

Remember that your home show must be in the same state as your fantasy corps.

What actually defines the placement?

I'm new at this...bare with me, but is it because this is my first time with DLOFDC, is that why my corps is at the back of the line?

Thanks a lot for your help. Out of curiosity, what determines whether or not a show is full? I couldn't register for a show that has fewer groups (in my division as well as overall) than others that I could register for. Oh well.

Shows are supposed to be marked as full for a division when they have six fantasy corps. Some do slip through the cracks, though.

Oh ok. Yeah because, for example, I wanted to sign up for the Rockford show (I wanted that to be our home show) but it isn't listed as an option when I was trying to register for it, despite it only having 4 Division 3 corps at the moment... oh well.

EDIT: Same with the Lisle, IL show... I would check the other shows I wanted to go to out but I have to leave for something at the moment...

I wrote a script and ran it against the database to fix all the discrepancies.

As per the chart on page 7 of the handbook, Divisions 3 and below all are allotted 120 points.

This is just a heads-up to all the directors out there that 68 directors (over one-third) have yet to fulfill their caption and schedule obligations. We could see a lot of division moving next week if this number does not dramatically decrease. The same thing happened last year and the year before, and I take it very personally as a slap in the face for all the hard work we put into this. I know some have valid reasons, but most just don't bother, and that really gets to me.

Scheduling and Caption picking will be locked at 12AM EDT. During this time I will be deleting all the "no-shows" (fantasy corps whose directors failed to either pick captions or at least 20 shows) and bumping mucho fantasy corps up a division. As it stands now, there will be 5 divisions, with Division 5 having just over 25 fantasy corps. I will adjust everyone's schedules in the database to make sure you are placed in the correct (updated) divisions at your competitions. There are 4,381 entries in the schedule database, so it may take me a while.

For those of you moving into a division that gets you more caption points, don't fret, you and everyone else will be able to change your captions up until opening day. I will unlock caption picking and make an announcement once I am finished moving everyone to their new divisions.

I have finished deleting all no-shows -- 49 in total -- from the database. I have bumped several fantasy corps up a division, and in some cases, two. We have 5 divisions, with Division 5 having 34 fantasy corps.

No further editing of schedules is neccessary. What you have now is your final schedule.

For those that have moved from Division 3 to Division 2 or from Division 2 to Division 1, you now have more points to spend on captions.

I had planned on re-opening caption editing after I was done editing the database, however my ISP is experiencing problems that keep me from directly accessing the Drumlines.org server. I can access the server through a proxy server; however, I have my FTP service setup in a way that prevents me from accessing it through a proxy. I will try to connect later before I go to bed. If it is still not working, I should be able to connect from work later sometime after 2:30PM. I will reply to this post when I have re-opened caption editing.

PS - Just as my ISP went haywire, I was transferring files. I was tranferring the showonecorps.fdc file at the time. Because of this, this file is blank on the server. I will remedy this once I can attain an FTP connection to my server.

Seems as if my ISP got their crap together. Caption editing is back open for business until opening day.
