Redneck Regiment Hits The Road! That's right y'all, we've made final preparations, applied needed ducktape to the instrument trucks and the buses, and are ready to start the summer tour! But before we get into details about our summer, the Redneck Regiment in it's staff would like to say hello to our new division and wish all of the Division 4 corps good luck, we look forward to performing with you!
After a final practice on Wednesday evening, we're packing up the instruments, loading ourselves on the buses, and heading out to our first competition. We are also proud to say that our station wagon, once a static piece of rusting metal, has been given new life. Some of the fathers of corps members happened to be mechanics, and donated their time to getting some new wheels on it, welding some weak parts of the frame to ensure it stays together in transit, and evicted the chickens from their nests. We requested they leave the thing rusty instead of give it some paint to keep the redneck character about it, and also denied putting tires on it. The new wheels however, do allow the thing to be rolled, and the lack of an engine or seats allow the thing to be moved quickly on and off the field by a small team of volunteers. So our fabled station wagon is officially being included in the show, and you can catch it up on blocks near it's traditional spot over on the left side of the field on the front hash mark of the 10 yard line.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Oswego, IL later this week and wish everyone there good luck and a good season!

Redneck Regiment Pre-Finals Shindig With a few days off between our appearance at Salem, VA and Allentown, PA, the Redneck Regiment is going to be in their hometown of Pikeville, KY cleaning our show as much as possible. On the evening of August 2nd and 3rd, we're inviting any corps or fans to swing by each evening as we'll have some Redneck Regiment items for sale so you can show your support in Madison, but we'll also have free drinks and refreshments by the practice field for anyone who stops by. And of course, you'll get to watch the Redneck Regiment practice for finals! We've got a few things to throw in the show as well, so some you might get to see in these practice sessions, and some we might save for Madison. On behalf of all those involved with the Redneck Regiment I would like to thank everyone for your support throughout the season, and would like to wish everyone the best of luck in finals. If you can't make our little shindig on the 2nd and 3rd, feel free to stop by our trailer, one of the buses, practice area, or where ever else you might see us in Madison and say hi. Again, best of luck, and see you guys in finals!

Redneck Regiment Names Mullet Good Luck Charm Ask any Redneck Regiment member the number one thing that contributed to their DLOFDC Division 4 championship as they leave the stadium in Madison, WI and you'll get one answer: mullets. After the confusion from fans in the beginning of the season wondering why we didn't begin with mandatory mullets, the corps members and staff considered ways to include the mullet into the uniform. The Regiment mulled over the idea of using mullets as a trick they wanted to keep up their sleeve until a performance when that extra impact to the show was needed, and the gamble of holding off on the mullets until the finals seems to have paid off. The crowd roared Saturday night as the Regiment marched onto the field when they noticed everyone, from the guard to the pit to the brass to the drum line, sporting a mullet as their hairstyle. The Redneck Regiment is also very seriously considering making their 2006 good luck charm an official part of the corps uniform for 2007 and are hoping that it will be a long-lasting tradition for years to come. An official announcement should come by the first audition camp this fall regarding mandatory mullets for the 2007 uniform. The corps would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the summer and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year in Pasadena!
