HURRICANE TAKES FOURTH AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPSDespite an "off" show at finals, season still deemed a success
Hurricane is proud of its fourth place finish at the 2006
DLOFDC World Championships.
"I couldn't be prouder of these kids," remarked corps director Kristina happily. "Nobody here has any regrets. We unanimously would relive every moment of the season again, exactly how it happened. Everyone gained so much. And there's really nothing else to say, except congratulations to the medaling corps!"
The Hurricane 2006 Statistics Department was less enthusiastic about the results.
"I'm actually pretty disappointed," sighed the head statistician. "I did so much work on this. I spent hours putting together strong combinations of captions, and in the end, the corps that we picked didn't do as well as usual in the captions we picked them for. That was a disappointment. We would have owned with that combination at most any other point in the season. So finals was kind of an 'off' show for us. But overall, I guess it could have been worse."
So, the tale of Hurricane Drum and Bugle Corps 2006 comes to a happy conclusion. From here, the corps director will take a week off to recover from the season and pack her bags, then retreat to her new dorm to begin developing next year's show idea.
**Special thanks to the corps director of The Happy Campers for the awesome "Hurricane Drum and Bugle Corps" drum head decoration for my dorm, and the 2006 Hurricane almanac. That was an incredibly cool/thoughtful/creative grad present, and the former item is totally going in my dorm! Thanks again, and I'm sure we'll talk soon as usual.
