The Engineers are returning to DLOFDC this year after a respectable 10th at last year's Finals. The Show has been decided but not official announcement will be made until a later date. Also, the corps has held auditions and the corps lineup is a follows: 25 Sopranos 18 Mellophones 10 Baritones 8 Euphoniums 10 Contras 10 Snares 5 Tenors 5 Bass 7 Pit (3 Mallets, 1 Tympanist, 3 Assorted Percussion) 25 Guard (10 will use weaponry and flags, 15 will use only flags, all will use dance) 2 Drum Majors All Percussion Instruments are from Dynasty USA. The Brass contract is in limbo due to some miscommunications with service and durability. Other Brass manufacturers are being looked into and we may change our Brass outlook in the near future. The Uniforms are the same as last years and the staff will also remain the same.

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DLOFDC FANS* The Engineers have decided their songs for this years "The Elf and the Princess" theme. If the director may make a note, the songs will all be from "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time". The opener will be the "Hyrule Field" Theme. Where our hero begins his quest. The Second piece will be "Epona's Song" which reminds our hero of his home. The third movement takes us to the market with the very cheery and light feeling "Market" song, where our hero meets Princess Zelda for the first time, with a brief yet powerful and dark snippet where our hero encounters Ganondorf for the first time. The fourth movement will be a drum feature which is based off the "Dance of the Gorons" and also includes the darkness of the "Song of Time" melody. "Saria's Song" is then presented after this piece and is transitioned to the "Kakariko Village Ballad". This slow and moving piece gives one last look before the final battle begins. "Battle" is the next piece where, as you can guess, the epic confrontation between Link and Ganondorf culminates when Ganon is defeated, Zelda's Lullaby soothes the souls of all who were affected and a return of "Saria's Song" shows the aftermath of the battle and an original hero-inspired piece finishes the story. So, for those counting and a more brief notice. Songs are: 1) "Hyrule Field Theme" 2) "Epona's Song" 3) "Market" 4) "Dance of the Gorons"/ "Song of Time" (Drum Feature) 5) "Saria's Song" 6) "Kakariko Village Ballad" 7) "Battle" 8) "Saria's Song Reprise" 9) Original hero inspired finale Also, we have decided to use Kanstul Brass instruments for this season. After a lengthy process of auditions, Kanstul just seemed to have the power and subtleness that we need.

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DCLODC DIRECTORS AND FANS* The Engineers have finally gotten their entire corps to all-days. Many could not begin at the original date of May 25th due to school issues. Graduations and the like have kept 30% of our corps from making all-days but since they were given their information a week before all-days commenced, the corps has continued to persevere. Once again, the corps director has continued the stealth as to where The Engineers are rehearsing for the pre-tour camps of death in order to keep their corps focused on the task laid before them. The corps will have their preview show at Towson University on June 14th before making their way to Fort Myers, Florida. Where an early summer showdown with The Mrauders, The Dreadnoughts, Chesapeake Sound, Royal Regiment, The Hot Air, and The Music City Fivesters awaits. Mr. Smith, Corps' director, stated in an E-mail, "This season will arguably be the toughest we will face. I feel that the corps will make some strides, but I am still uncertain about our final placement with the amount of pressure being placed on the kids and how it may affect both them and the staff. I wish all DLOFDC corps good luck and expect a good season full of rivalries and retaliations. May the best corps win. However I, for one, am happy that Kama Sutra is inactive due to the humiliation befallen onto my corps after an interview with their director, who didn't even paste the entire interview.

*PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DLOFDC FANS* The Engineers held a "send-off" clinic/rehearsal/full performance yesterday at Towson University's Unitus Stadium in front of a capacity crowd. The crowd was given the treat of seeing all members of the corps go through rehearsal on Music, technique and a few of the rougher spots in drill. The Drumline was the most popular sections to be viewed and the line gave a little exhibition jam session and went through all of the exercises for the crowd before giving a clinic to wishful percussionists and a combined warm-up for the parents before the performance. Brass players were also seen in awe with the percussion section before being called for their own workouts and clinic. The guard was also very popular and gave quite a show with weaponry thrown and caught almost effortlessly. The Brass, being unphased, gave a very powerful display themselves and leaving no doubt that this brass section will be very tough to beat in DLOFDC Divison 1. After the clinics were finished, the corps went through a regular rehearsal and dismissed for dinner with their guests at 4:30. At 6:00, the corps gathered and dressed for their impending "pre-show" rituals and again dazzled the crowds beforehand with their focus. At 7:15 the fans of the corps were requested to go to the stands in preparation for the show to begin. 5 very exuberant fans wanted to stay with 2 particular Brass and Percussion members before being asked politely to go into the stands and they would talk to them after the performance. The crowd was seated, the lights were lit and the debut of the 2006 Engineers Drum and Bugle Corps was underway. After the standard "on the field" chord progression and percussion warm-ups, the corps took the field in front of friends and family. The Drum Major debuted a new salute for the crowd and the corps began their show. Intricate drill was worked with a few messups here and there, the brass held together nicely, the guard hitting tosses left and right and the percussion showed their exuberance with a fury of stick flips, intricate rhythms and all out passion for the show. Overall a nice production, but not quite at the level the corps is known for due to some collisions, dropped tosses and other early season problems that all DLOFDC corps have. The crowd came to it's feet as the show ended and the members just soaked it up. After the show, the corps packed up and once again talked with the fans until midnight when the corps had to leave for Ft. Myers, Florida for their first competing show of the season. Mr. Smith, corps director, was very happy with the performance. He states, "Tonight was one in many shows and clinics we have scheduled ahead of us. I am happy that the performers were able to have this day as a partial relaxing day before returning to the task at hand and getting ready like a real show. Although I saw many female fans trying to catch a little more than a glimpse of our snare and tenor line while many male fans were just salivating at the guard. Needless to say, this is going to be a very weird season. I want to personally thank the State of Maryland, Towson University, and our sponsers for this night and we will be back in a few weeks at our home show in nearby Westminster, MD where we will face The Brooklyn Rodgerers, The Dreadnaughts, The Gladiators, The Washington Scandals, and Chesapeake Sound." *THIS CONCLUDES THIS DLOFDC PRESS RELEASE*
