Last year, marching at homecoming. As we marched off the field, I tripped on one of those little orange pylon things that are in the end zone. Nobody but band members noticed, but it was still terribly embarassing.

Lol, I did the exact same thing on our school's homecoming game as well. Although, I didn't trip. I just stumbled a little. I kicked it out of my way like I ain't care because...I really didn't care.

Last marching season, we had one snare player. He was a junior and it was his first year on snare. We have these really crappy stands for all of our drums and the drums never stay on. Well anyway, every ohter game his snare would fall foward smacking into the bleachers. It was very painful to watch. Everytime it would happen, of coarse it wasn't his fault. His hip didn't mean ot bump into it.

Well, at our first parade this season (I think it was in September), our fourth bass drum was on the outside of a turn. The entire bass line took the turn wide, and forced him to run into a trash can. He thought he hit a person and started spinning around in circles to get away from the trash can.

I think I was the only person to notice, but after the parade, he said he was really embarrassed about it.

The look on his face was priceless, though.

This year I had to accidents that you could call embarrassing.

We had just finished marching another football game, and naturally, we had a film crew tape us. Well this time they neglected to keep their equipment in a nice little pile. Me being a bass drummer did not help the situation. I tripped almost falling over in from of our student section.

I also had a moment that you could call embarrassing out on our practice field. One day we were out there and the woodwinds had to fix a part. About ten minutes later, I dozed off standing with my drum on, and we went back to the set that we were just on. My section was too busy talking to realize that I was sleeping and went back without me. They then saw what happened and started laughing during the set and woke me up. Then our instructor then had to wonder how you can fall asleep with your drum on. Needless to say the entire band found out and had a little laugh.

Last year was priceless though. We went to an away game and it was about a thirty minute bus ride from the school. Well somehow, I forgot my entire uniform. (There is a story behind the but I'd rather not explain.) It never hit me untill we unloaded all the equipment trucks. I then had to be driven back by a band parent, and brought back to the game just before halftime. To make this whole thing worse, the band found out and had to laugh at me. At the end of the year we have a awards ceramony, and I got an award for being the only band member to forget his entire uniform in Weslaco Panther corp history. It all was presented ny my mom who also happens to be the head band director at our school.

Luckily, I haven't had anything too embarrassing happen to me. The worst that happened to me this year was at our other home Stadium in Little Rock. When we have games there, we do an additional pregame march-around outside War Memorial before we go inside and do another march-around and pregame show. On the way around, we were doing a song where we are constantly bending over with cymbals and my hat fell way down over my eyes. I didn't think it was a big deal until I figured out I couldn't move it. No matter what I did, it's like it was glued over my eyes. So I was marching and playing completely blind. Luckily I didn't run into anyone or wander off into the crowd!

Oh, one other time this year my snare fell off my carrier this year and went rolling down the hallway in the band hall... I thought it was on the carrier just fine, and even locked... apparently not

At least a whole stadium full of people didn't see you. That would have been horrible lol.

I marched one season of bass drum. It was a disaster. In the same season, three things happened:

1) While marching onto the field for a home football game show, I tripped over a 10 yard line marker and fell.
2) Incredibly, while marching off the field at a competition, I tripped over ANOTHER 10 yard line marker and my bass drum went flying off me and I just about fell but managed to just stumble several steps and crash into my bass drum, which I hastily threw back on me.
3) While marching through the halls for homecoming, I ran into a huge garbage can. Thinking it was a person and figuring it would move out of the way soon, I simply pushed a little harder... and toppled both the garbage can and myself, hitting my head on the extremely hard exterior of the garbage can (lined with stones for decoration) and doing a complete somersault over the bass drum.

*Sigh*. Thank God I've been back on tenors ever since (well, one year of pit for winter line). At least you can see over tenors. I've run into doors and stuff, but otherwise, nothing that was particularly out of the ordinary for a tenor player, lol.

Man, I thought I had embarrassing moments until I read all of these!

I played quads as a high school freshman. Lots of attractive women in the guard, so I must appear cool at all times. I didn't look so cool when my quads and I tumbled down the stairs coming out of the stands at an away game. Right in front of the guard, naturally. I'm just thankful I wasn't hurt!

My most embarrassing moment was this year while we were practicing our show for this year in the parking lot after school and we were wearing regular clothes....well that day my pants weren't a perfect fit and they fell down to my ankles in the middle of the drum break...I was wearing Tenors...lot of people including hot chicks...not a fun moment.
