This past indoor season, I was marching tenors and at the end of the last movement we have these sets we call the "death sets" because they are really fast and your moving really far all while being inches from each other, the best way to describe it would be navigating an asteroid field.

Well we had a show one weekend where I was really really sick, but I marched anyway. I held up really good the entire show until we got to the death sets, my mind went completely blank and I was holding on for dear life not to get killed.

The day after we had a rehearsal, and one of our basses mom took a video of the performance and brought it in, we watched it and during the end everyone pointed out me, I looked like a space cadet, I have a look of terror on my face, I'm bobbing and weaving, not playing a thing and my set heights were in the sky.

Talk about facepalm*

My sophomore year in high school. We were at the second round of play offs, huge crowd of people. Game was starting in about 15 minutes. We had just finished talking to the other drumline (we were away) and the band director. They were cool with us being there and encouraged us to play. So anyways as a drumline we are just walking back to our home crowd on the track. One of the guys on the line is like "hey i'll race you!" so we were sprinting on the track rounding a turn right before the home crowd, and I over stride and start tumbling over, trying to catch myself, and finally just tumble over rolling a couple times. I've never felt so embarrassed. Right by our cheerleaders too. I still say to this day that he tripped me.

Haw-Haw! [/Nelson]

No, but seriously. That's awesome and I wish I would have witnessed it.

my most a embarrassing moment has to be whenever i was at a competition this year. right after my tenor break baking up into the next set. i was fine, the next set every one rotated around me. right when the percussion judge walks up to watch me for a second, my stick fly's out my hand. he bent over picked up and handing it to me.

my most embarassing moment actually happened this year. it was really windy on the competition day, and all of our helmets were shifting around because of our giant feathers. in the middle of the show (we were playing karn evil 9 by ELP) my helmet went over my eyes and i couldent see for the rest of the show! the rest of the line had a good laugh about that, but i kept my spot right the entire time!

during wgi prelims in 08 we had some visual dance like moves where we turn and do some feet/leg stuff. well I forgot to turn and missed all the moves(about 3 or 4 measures). top bass almost ran into me but luckly we had a 2nd turn so I was able to recover.
