I never heard this one before. I don't remember the site I got it off. They did'nt know anything about it either. This is one of the best cadences I ever heard! It's short and groovy. Does anyone know what it is?

I could'nt fit the mp3 in the post so I uploaded it into my website directory. Heres the link:

yeah, man, that's bad! I wouldn't doubt it if that turned out to be show music though, something about the way it ends, just doesn't sound like a cadence to me....Also, their are some cymbal sounds in there that don't sound like any marching cymbals I've heard, they almost sound like china cymbals or something you would find on a rack.

Also, what's with the little skip in the middle?

Anyway, I'd say it's some drum corps' drum solo. Something about it reminds me of something the crossmen might play....

OH well, it sure sounds tight though.

Yeah it does kind of sound like some mallet parts could be in there during the quiet sections. Perhaps it's the battery part of a percussion feature. It kind of sounds African to me. If this is a cadence then I was thinking this, the snares have splash cymbals on the snares, tenors got woodblocks or whatever that sound is in there.

It's the 3rd movement (I believe) from Madison Scouts this year, and it sounds even better with the horns. It goes into this awesome part where the tenors have bass drums with foot pedals on the ground with two cymbals on either side of them, my favorite part. A video of it can be seen on drumlineparkinglot.net under Madison, named Lot Session I think. One could turn that into a cadence, though... hmmm...

That's correct Phreak, it is the Madison Scouts. You can find the excerpt, as well as the rest of their book, at DPL at http://www.drumlineparkinglot.net/dci/scouts
