The choice of leading timpanists for nearly half a century, Remo Tympani heads continue setting the standard for tympani sound and performance in the world’s major symphonic, studio and pit orchestras. They are the choice of top timpanists due to their round, deep, balanced sound that has a warmth, resonance and articulation similar to the traditional tonal characteristics of calf skin.
RENAISSANCE™ Tympani heads provide the classic performance-level sound, sensitivity, size selection, and consistency that leading orchestral and studio percussionists have come to expect from Remo. In addition to RENAISSANCE™ are Hazy (warmer) and Clear (brighter) films to offer a near-perfect balance of depth, projection, resonance, and articulation throughout a wide tuning range and of choice of mallets. Remo Tympani heads are available in over 40 standard and custom sizes to fit all major drum brands.
Continuous Tympani innovation has led to upgraded flesh hoops on all Tympani heads. The Tympani II high-strength aluminum flesh hoops are thicker, resulting in easier, quicker, and more consistent tuning.
Tympani heads are available in four configurations with a standard-height steel insert ring, standard-height aluminum insert ring, new low steel insert ring, or a standard tympani head (TI) with no insert ring for a clear bright sound.Remo is grateful to timpanists worldwide for their support and assistance developing these heads.
