Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Very thorough in both technique instruction and exercises
Cons:
More beginner-intermediate, Some solos are tougher than what the book actually teaches.
Great book.
EXCELLENT source of information for new tenor players looking to fine tune their technique and clarity of patterns.
The only thing that I thought was a bit out of place was the solos. They kinda see to be thrown in their for filler... The book does teach some advanced patterns, but I feel if you put out a book it should have a logical step of progression to everything that's inside it. Having extremely advanced solos is nice, but if you don't have the exercises to work up step by step, then they're a bit harder and don't really fit into the progression of the book.
However, the beginning pages (technique description and basic exercises) are invaluable to any player, new or advanced.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Great exercises, fun and challenging solos
Cons:
Solos are a bit too challenging in accordance with the exercises
I can't begin to explain how awesome these exercises are to help build the tenor players chops.
As mentioned in another review here, the solos are a bit too challenging when compared to the skill level of the exercises that precede them. But on the other hand, the solos are fun and challenging to any tenor player at all skill levels!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):

Good collection of beginner to insane-level solos.

Cons:

Needs to be used in conjunction with other method books.

Honestly, if you're an independent or developing tenor drummer, there are not a lot of resources for music material out there for you. Rudimental snare drum solo books are fairly common, and it's nice to see a collection now of tenor drum solos.
I actually take the opposite opinion of the other reviews on here so far - I think the solos in the book are great, and while I agree that they don't exactly line up with the included exercises, I think the true value of the book is for the *solos*, not the exercises. (In fact, I think this book, in conjunction with Bill Bachman's Quad Logic for technique, pretty well covers everything.)
The solos range from the middle school / early high school level, right on up through the one that won the PASIC competition. The various solos focus a lot on "groove" - with a heavy focus on independent hand drumming (sometimes too much, I think), but as these are solo pieces, not ensemble, I can see where the authors were coming from.
Bottom line - I'd recommend this book to anyone either grounded in technique already, or who also has a technique-specific book and is using this for solo material only.
