Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great exercises and fascinating rehearsal clips
Cons: Not enough rehearsal clips

This is an ok dvd to show your drumline but a great resource for exercises to make your snareline better. There was not as much focus on the drumline as a whole. It was mainly focused on the snares. It shows Scott Johnson explaining each exercise for the snares. It does not tell about what the tenors or the bass drums do for each exercise.
It did have some very entertaining portions in addition to the educational parts. The dvd features clips of the 2001 drumline rehearsals in between each exercise. My favorite part of the whole dvd was the one clip of a rehearsal where Roger Carter was leading the drumline. He really knows what he's doing and is humorous as he instructs them. That's why I wish there was longer footage of their rehearsals: it was so fascinating to see Roger Carter running the drumline through their show drills. One thing that really bothered me was that the dvd didn't even give you a clip of the 2001 percussion feature! That's right! They didn't show the snare/tenor/bass break! They only showed other minor licks. There were portions of the 2004 drumline playing some stuff which is found in the "extra features" section of the dvd.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good Insight into the Blue Devils warmups
Cons: Not enough in-depth info dealing with the warmups

I'd say that it's a cool video, but it isnt much in the way of educational value. It's goes through the 12 warmups with a description of the purpose and then a clip of the Blue Devils playing it. That's all well and good, but unfortunately, it just doesn't serve much more of a purpose then entertainment. There's also a part with a background beat that seems almost unbearable at one point because they play it while other warmup are going as well as people talking. I felt that it just wasn't that well done, and could have been much more in depth. I probably would not reccomend it for educational purposes, but as with anything, thats just my opinion.
